Alphonso Mackenzie was the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., who died when Glenn Talbot managed to infuse himself with the Gravitonium and absorbed Daisy Johnson while going on a rampage, destroying Earth in the process.

"The Last Day"[]
Mack died in the Destruction of Earth, never making it aboard Zephyr One. When the Kree Watch took over the Lighthouse, Yo-Yo furiously told Robin Hinton that Mack was gone, and he was never coming back when Robin kept talking about Mack and Flint.
"Past Life"[]
- "But I knew you were close. You and... Mack. Mack. He's still alive. Hold him for as long as you can."

After meeting her younger self, Yo-Yo was happy that Mack that was still alive and he was in the Lighthouse, revealing that her Mack was dead. However, the future Yo-Yo didn't answer her present day self's questions about what had happened to him in the future.
"The End"[]
When Mack entered Qovos' Ship to save Polly Hinton, Fitz remembered that neither Mack nor Polly survived the Destruction of Earth, suggesting that Mack's alternate self and Polly died on the ship. Fitz and Melinda May rescued Mack and Polly from two Remorath warriors, changing their fates.
