Amy Haller is the adopted older sister of David Charles.

At the age of four, Amy witnessed her parents accepting an infant boy into their home from an unknown man. The boy, named David, was raised alongside Amy as her younger brother, though Amy and her parents withheld the fact that he was adopted. At some point in her life, Amy married a man named Ben. After David was admitted into Clockworks Psychiatric Hospital because of a suicide attempt, Amy would regularly visit him, assuring David that him that he would get better.
During Halloween David showed up at Amy and her husband Ben house. David told them that the hospital had released him and that he just needed a place to stay. Amy welcomed her brother in and fed him waffles. Later she led him downstairs to the basement where he could sleep on the bed there. When David’s started acting up and resulted in him breaking a lamp Amy made sure to take all the gardening upstairs so as to prevent her brother for possibly harming himself.
