The Battle of New York was when Loki used Thanos' army to invade New York and the Avengers stopped him.

Events

• Loki uses the Space Stone to create a portal to the Chitauri Command Center.
• The Chitauri army and Leviathans attack New York City.
• The Avengers form to fight the invasion and defeat Loki.
• The U.S. government launch a nuclear missile, which Iron Man redirects through the portal and destroys the Chitauri Command Center.
• The portal closes before Iron Man can get back through. The wormhole instead sends Iron Man rocketing through space to the planet Sakaar.

Aftermath

• Iron Man witnesses the tyrannical reign of the Grandmaster on Sakaar and decides to intervene in a Sakaar Grand Prix which results in the Grandmaster's melting, freeing Sakaar of his control.
• Thanos sends Gamora after Iron Man for revenge, only to have the two of them team up together to kill him.
