When the students were admiring the lab and seeing the spiders that scientists were experimenting on, into making fifteen genetically engineered super spiders. One of these spiders had escaped from its container, where it bit Peter on the back of his right hand, granting him spider-like superpowers, which he later used to become the superhero, Spider-Man. Following his high school graduation, Peter enrolled at the same university that he got his powers from and majored in biophysics.

Spider-Man 2[]

Two years after defeating the Green Goblin, Peter was finding his double life increasingly difficult as his superhero duties often made him late for his biophysics classes at Columbia University, which resulted in his teacher, Dr. Curt Connors, declining his grades after he missed one of his classes. When Peter began to lose his spider powers, due to an emotional breakdown over his existential crisis of balancing his double life, he abandoned his Spider-Man identity, throwing his suit in a trash bin, and began to make up the time to attend his classes. After hard studying, Peter finally managed to maintain his grades and attend his classes on time, which impressed Dr. Connors.

Spider-Man 3[]

One year after defeating Doctor Octopus, Peter finally managed to find a way to balance his double life and is the top of his classes at Columbia University. He also befriended fellow classmate, Gwen Stacy, who was also interested in science as Peter was, and became lab partners with her, though he remained friends with her. After Peter bonded with an alien symbiote, he brought a sample to Connors to have a look on it. Connors was astonished to see such an alien life-form and began experimenting on it. Peter got a call from Connors (presumably at his lab at Columbia University), who told him that he discovered to his horror that the alien symbiote not just bonds with a host, it brings out negative emotions such as rage and aggression. Peter later got rid of the symbiote after it made him backhand Mary Jane and disfigure the right side of Harry's face with a pumpkin bomb.
