  • Corruption Inducement: The Darkhold was able to corrupt other individuals, turning them into corrupt versions of themselves.
  • Sentience: The Darkhold was sentient, as it is seen "reading" both Joe Bauer and Lucy Bauer in order to see if they were worthy of reading it. Lucy was able to see the book in English, while Joseph saw the book in German. Elias Morrow was also able to read the book in Spanish.

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, the book is referred to as the Book of Spells and Book of Sins, and is the opposite of the Book of the Vishanti. The book is a collection of all evil spells in existence gathered by the Elder God Chthon.
  • In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson mentions that throughout history, Red Skull, Werner Reinhardt, and Nick Fury were all searching for the book, but with no luck.
  • In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the book shows a portal identical to the one created by the Sling Ring in Doctor Strange.
  • In the episode "Lockup", the book was found in a basement believed to belong to Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider, as a poster for Quentin Carnival is seen as well as a stuntman's helmet and a black leather jacket.
