Edwards and his partner, Captain Jack Dolan, investigated a series of crimes of murder committed by the demon Blackheart.
Edwards accompanied Dolan when he arrested Johnny Blaze for the crimes based on circumstantial evidence.
Later, Edwards and Dolan went to see Roxanne Simpson, believing that she may know where Johnny was. When Edwards asked her if Johnny had tried to contact her in any way, Roxanne stated that she couldn't help them.
