Erik M. Lehnsherr, also known as Magneto, is one of the world's most powerful mutants and the X-Men's most dangerous foe. His incredible ability to manipulate the earth's magnetic fields allows him to control all forms of metal by using his mind. Unlike Charles Xavier who dreams of peaceful co-existence between normal humans and mutants, Magneto believes the only way he can protect his fellow mutants from persecution is by conquering the earth. Magneto has formed the Brotherhood of Mutants that he now leads in his quest for world domination for homo superior. The only ones that can stand in their way are the X-Men.

Biography[]

Wolverine and the X-Men: Hindsight[]

The X-Men went to Genosha when Emma Frost detected Professor Xavier. After an attempted "commando raid" by Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men, Magneto stated he found Xavier on the shores of Genosha in a coma. He had been caring for his counterpart ever since.

Powers[]

  • Mutant Physiology: Magneto is an extremely powerful mutant who possesses magnetogenesis, magnetokinesis and ferrokinesis. Magneto is also one of the most powerful mutants on the entire planet. Whenever Magneto utilizes his magnetic powers; both of his eyes sometimes glow bright white.
    • Magnetogenesis: Magneto can generate, create and project magnetic fields from both of his hands or his entire body.
    • Magnetokinesis: Magneto can manipulate magnetic fields.
    • Ferrokinesis: Magneto can manipulate all forms of metal, even non ferrous ones; by using his powers to make any metal magnetic.
    • Flyrogenesis: Magneto can generate, create and project force fields around himself.
      • Flight: Magneto is able to fly; by projecting magnetic fields around himself.

Abilities[]

  • Master Leader: As the former leader of the Acolytes; Erik is proven to be a very capable leader.

Weaknesses[]

  • Non-Metallic Objects: If Magneto is in an area with no metal, he is almost completely helpless. However, despite this, he is still highly athletic and capable of physically fighting others.

  • The mother of Magneto's children, Pietro, Wanda, and Lorna, is not known, but this is the first time all three of them have appeared at once.
