- In the comics, Gabrielle Haller was a catatonic Holocaust survivor who awoke from the disorder after Charles Xavier used his powers to make her aware again. The too had a brief romance in which David was conceived before Charles left not knowing that he had a son.
- Because David's surname of Haller comes from his adoptive family, it is unknown what Gabrielle's maiden name was.
