Gamma Radiation is a type of radiation that gave Bruce Banner, Emil Blonsky, and Jennifer Walters their powers; turning them into the Hulk, the Abomination, and She-Hulk.
History[]
The Incredible Hulk[]
Bruce Banner experimented with gamma radiation and, in an accident, turned into the Hulk.
Thor[]
Erik Selvig mentioned a scientist who experimented with gamma radiation.
The Avengers[]
The Tesseract was mentioned to emit traces of gamma radiation, leading to the recruitment of Bruce Banner to assist in finding it.
Avengers: Endgame[]
Through further gamma radiation experimentation, Bruce Banner managed to figure out how to merge his intelligence with the Hulk's physical body. Later, Banner stated that the radiation emitted by the Infinity Stones was mostly gamma so he could survive it; unlike the rest of the Avengers. Although Banner successfully used the Infinity Stones, it left him severely injured and later killed Tony Stark when he used the Stones to destroy Thanos and his army.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law[]
"A Normal Amount of Rage"[]
After a car accident, Jennifer Walters became exposed to Bruce Banner's gamma radiation-infected blood. Although she got a lethal dose, Bruce and Jennifer shared a rare combination of genetic factors that allowed their bodies to synthesize gamma radiation into something else. As a result, Jennifer became the She-Hulk rather than dying. In addition, by analyzing how Jennifer's blood synthesized gamma radiation which was "basically different" than how Bruce's did it allowed Bruce to completely heal the damage that the Infinity Stones had done to his arm when Bruce had used them to reverse the Decimation.
