Joan was mentioned when Betty Brant told J. Jonah Jameson that his wife was on the line and so he hung up.
Spider-Man 2[]
Joan was at the local planetarium when her husband asked Peter to take a picture of them and their friends. Later, Joan was present when her son announced his engagement to Mary Jane Watson. She attended her son's wedding sitting next to Jonah. After Mary Jane left John at the altar, Jameson told his wife to call the caterer and "tell her not to open the caviar".

Joan was once again on the phone, which enraged Jonah until Betty Brant told him that his blood pressure was high. He told Betty to tell his wife "thank you".
