Biography[]
Early Life[]
Lauren and her family were almost killed by a car accident, but Lauren was able to prevent the accident by triggering her mutant powers. She was forced to keep her powers a secret, smiling and pretending that everything was normal, when she knew that it wasn't. She had been content to wait; until she turned 18 and graduate from high school before moving some place far away, like Florence.
The Gifted[]
"eXposed"[]
Lauren joined her brother, and her mother, at dinner after Facetiming with her boyfriend. Her father couldn't make it because he was called in to interview a suspect at the Garland Detention Center. Caitlin asked Andy how his day was at school, to which he talked about a debate they had in social studies class about the law they wanted to enforce to test people with the X-gene and monitor them. He mentioned someone in the class who freaked out, Andy's guess was that his cousin was a "mutie". Lauren, angered by such a derogatory term, tells Andy how racist he sounded. They got into an argument before their mother interjected, complaining about how they couldn't have one normal conversation.
Lauren made plans to see her boyfriend at the school dance and when she got into her car she found Andy in the passenger seat. She refused to take him with her because he neglected to tell their parents about attending the party and chose, instead, to sneak out. Andy reassured her that his disappearance wouldn't trace back to her as he could make an excuse that he just went to Ian's. Despite being bullied at school, he still wanted to attend the school dance because he felt like he was being raised like a veal, cooped up in the house. Upon hearing this, Lauren reluctantly told him to buckle up as they headed for school.
As they entered the dance, music boomed all around the gymnasium as students crowded the dance floor. Lauren's boyfriend, appeared and kissed Lauren. Andy decided to separate himself from them as he made his way toward the bleachers. As Jack and Lauren danced, Lauren noticed her brother, Andy, and some other guys entering the locker rooms. After a while, the school suddenly began shaking as the intensity increased, soon the lights and ceiling fixtures began to explode and fall, prompting students at the dance to run out of the school. Lauren refused to evacuate, going the opposite direction as the moving crowd, in an attempt to find her brother. As she advanced toward the locker room, she used abilities to shield herself and other students from falling debris. Seeing Andy's tormentors exit the locker room she ran inside and found her brother in the middle of the showers screaming with the faucets bent backward and the entire room trembling and falling apart. Lauren calmed Andy enough to stop his wild fit and the two exited the school and ran straight home.
Once home Andy and Lauren told their mother what happened. In disbelief, their mother asked how this could happen. Lauren quickly came to Andy's defense saying this was beyond Andy's control as the X-Gene was triggered in moments of stress or danger and she knew this because she had a secret of her own, she revealed that she was a mutant and had been hiding her abilities for three years after they first manifested when she saved the family from a near-fatal car accident. Caitlin's naivete showed as she assured her children that her and their father were not against mutants right before agent Jace Turner and agent Ed Weeks from Sentinel Services.
They told Caitlin that they were there to apprehend Andy and Lauren, when Caitlin refused to comply, they forced their way into the Strucker house, knocking Caitlin down in the process. Andy began to shake the house and told the agents to leave. Jace Turner urged Andy to calm down, and to come with him for questioning but as Andy grew angrier, the shaking intensified, forcing the Agents to draw their weapons. However, Lauren obstructed their path with her shields, which in return gave Caitlin, Andy, and Lauren enough time to escape in the family's van. Attempting to flee in the family van with agents surrounding them, Andy tried to use his powers but couldn't seem to control them. Lauren created a shield between the van and the agents and the family escaped.
Reed Strucker met his family in a diner and began his professional evaluation of the situation, asking Andy if he wasn't the one who initiated it. Caitlin reminded him that it wasn't a deposition and that a legal understanding of the matter would do little to help against Sentinel Services. When she mentioned the Sentinel Services' part in all of this, he finally understood the life and death reality of the situation. Sentinel Services was a federal agency with little oversight that has "disappeared" mutant suspects in the past and he wouldn't allow that to happen to his children. The only reason they got away, was that Sentinel Services didn't have enough time to put a full team together. Soon, the pressure would pick up, and they needed to find someplace safe, not, as Caitlin suggested, that they stay with her sister, Jenny in Phoenix, but Reed was thinking more along the lines of someplace with less strict mutant laws, like Mexico. Reed promised to figure something out, as Lauren leans on him for comfort
At the Caravan Hotel Andy and Lauren discussed their powers and Andy's frustration with his inability to control them. Lauren told Andy that with time he will learn to control them and demonstrated her ability by knocking popcorn lose from a vending machine and encouraging Andy to do the same. When he attempted this, initially having some control, his powers escalated when his emotions from the incident at the dance took over, resulting in the machine being destroyed.
With everything going as planned, the Struckers met up with Eclipse in an abandoned warehouse facility. From there, Eclipse would get them food, water, and blankets before heading down to the border, though Caitlin refused to go any further until she knew all of what he has planned for her family. Eclipse explained that he knew people down by the border with a specific set of skills, that'd allow them to get people under, over, or even through the wall. Once that was done, they'd get them new IDs. There were also churches of people who would help them. Unfortunately, their plans never initiated as it didn't take long before they were surrounded by Sentinel Services, and ordered to the ground. and came to their rescue.
The seven of them sprinted through the warehouse, as Sentinel Services unleashed their mutant-hunting robots, the Sentinels, which Thunderbird saw coming ahead of time due to his foresight. When they were cornered, Eclipse and Lauren were able to keep them behind, using their mutant abilities, while Blink created a portal for them all to retreat through that led to the Mutant Underground HQ. Everyone; except for Andy and Reed, went through the portal. With Andy hyper-focused on destroying the sentinels, he telekinetically forced them to explode before joining the others through the portal. Blink couldn't hold the portal open for much longer, but while Reed was waiting for his son to enter the portal, he got shot before he got the chance to enter the portal after Andy, as Blink had to shut the portal because it was too for much her to bear. Lauren cried after the portal shut, as Reed was left for capture on the other side.

After making it through the Lauren, Andy, and Caitlin panic and ask Clarice to go back for Reed. However, Lauren exhausted and injured from the bullet wound, Clarice goes into unconsciousness and John and Marcos point out that even if they could go back it would be futile due to them being gravely outnumbered and so instead thought it best to focus on Clarice getting the care she needed.
Lauren later interrupted John and Marcos' discussion to inform them that something was wrong with Clarice. Caitlin explained that Clarice was in respiratory distress, and her temperature was spiking. With her having portalled for miles, they concluded that it must've taken a massive amount of energy. Unfortunately, despite the size of the network, a doctor is one thing they didn't have. The only thing they could offer Clarice was first-aid and pain killers. With that, Marcos wondered if Caitlin could do anything to help, though she was unsure given that she only took a one-week course of human variant medicine in school. However, Lauren stepped in to reassure her mother that she could help Clarice, especially since she had just saved them. Clarice's abilities then began to manifest on their own. With Clarice's body in shock, it was making her system unstable, thus effecting her abilities. In order to stabilize Clarice's powers, they needed access to medication and medical supplies. Clarice's powers manifested again, this time creating a portal to an unknown road, a portal that was large enough for the back end of a pick-up truck to come hurling through. Fortunately, with John's physical invulnerability, he was able to shield Lauren and Andy from any harm.
Lauren quickly rushed over to check on her mother, who had sustained a cut during the crash. John and Marcos then moved Clarice to a table, where her abilities manifested once more and began to have a physical strain on her body. Another portal opened to the same road as before. With this, a problem emerged, as armed civilians from the road could see into the Underground. While Marcos was prepared to fight, John wanted to avoid confrontation. Lauren then stepped in and using her powers was able to forcefully close Clarice’s portal. While she didn't think it would work, she figured it was worth a shot. However, with Clarice's condition worsening, another portal could very well open. John then asked Caitlin if they got her the medicine she required, could she help Clarice from the station. Unfortunately, the medication she required could only be found at a hospital, in the Pyxis machine. Taking this into consideration, Marcos hoped to take Caitlin to the nearest hospital to retrieve the required medicine while Lauren stayed back to close the portals, should they return.
The next day, with their mom off with Marcos to retrieve Clarice's medicine, Andy and Lauren learned from John that Clarice was a refugee that escaped from jail before they had found her. Lauren asked what she did to deserve incarceration. John explained that Clarice was apprehended after using a portal to steal food from the back of a supermarket which happened often with mutants who couldn't pass as humans as they usually couldn't get jobs due to their appearance. Clarice then unknowingly opened another portal to the same road as before. This time, the road was aligned with Atlanta PD. Fortunately, Lauren was able to close the portal, though she experienced more trouble with closing it this time around. John then headed out for a moment, instructing Lauren to yell if anything else happened. As she went over to check on Clarice, Andy told her that what she was doing was insane, but in a good way. He then asked if mutants drank soda because he was feeling thirsty, to which Lauren replied that they were mutants.
Unfortunately, with Clarice's condition worsening and Lauren was growing weaker each time she used her abilities, until she failed to close the portal,With the portal wide open, the S.W.A.T team slowly approached. As one member entered through the portal, John dispatched of him fairly quickly, before throwing him back outside of the portal. Andy then ran out in front and in a display of great power, sent every officer flying backward into the air, as well as Clarice, who was knocked to the floor, and fell unconscious, though it had seemed that knocking her out caused the portal to close. However, after the closing of that single portal, many opened in its place within headquarters. John then instructed Lauren, Andy, and Sonya to evacuate the building.
Lauren and Andy stood on the steps of the station, helping refugees evacuate as their mother and Marcos returned from the hospital with the supplies they needed to save Clarice. Lauren greeted her mother with a hug, though the reunion was short lived, as Caitlin had to go back inside to give Clarice the medicine, despite Lauren and Andy pleading with her to stay with them.
Later that night, as the Underground recovered from Clarice's portals, Lauren and Andy sat with their mother, who told them that she was proud of them both for their heroic actions. As for their father, Caitlin assured them that he would be found. She then admitted to them that lot of people had been fighting this war for a long time, and now it was their turn to take a stand as well and assured them they would fight to bring not only their father home, but everyone.
"eXodus"[]
Lauren and Andy set up a game of Monopoly, however the game got heated when Andy reached for the shoe piece which angered Lauren because their father always played with the shoe.
Later that Lauren and Andy were awakened from their sleep by their mother, who told them that she was leaving for their uncle Danny's house, but she would be back tomorrow, even though there were clear rules against leaving as it could compromise the station. Caitlin was hoping that he could help locate their father. But, as Lauren reminded her mother, they hadn't seen their uncle since their grandmother's funeral. Furthermore, they were not going to allow their mother to leave alone. As if Sentinel Services were to try and apprehend her, she needed someone to protect her. After realizing that she was better off with them than without them, Caitlin agreed. And so, the three of them quietly sneaked out the station that night, going unnoticed as they headed into the woods.
However, their trek proved difficult due to uncle Danny living across town, and they needed to catch a cab, otherwise they would be noticed on the street. But Caitlin pointed out that a cab to Buckhead was expensive, and without having no funds to spend due to their frozen bank accounts, she had no money to get them their. Andy suggested that they "unfreeze" their funds by robbing the bank, leaving both Lauren and Caitlin in disbelief that he would even suggest such an absurd idea. Lauren tried to explain that they couldn't be committing crimes if they ever stood a chance of having a normal life again, though Andy wasn't interested in her false hope in regaining normality in their lives, stating that normal was gone and that it didn't exist anymore. Andy then used his destructive abilities to rip open the parking meters, causing money to spill everywhere, thus providing them with cab fare.
The three caught a cab out to their uncle Danny's house, where he greeted Caitlin with a hug, and invited everyone in after informing them that the police had stopped by the house after the incident at the school. While their mother spoke to their uncle about their current predicament, Lauren and Andy chatted with their cousin, Scott, who was fascinated with the idea of them being mutants. He asked if they had to fight off cops while on the run. Lauren explained that it wasn't like that and that they mostly ran, although Andy did inform him that they destroyed a few Sentinels along the way. Scott then asked if they had been hiding out on the streets. Unerved by the conversation Danny suggested that they play video games instead.
While Lauren was on her tablet, following her boyfriend, Jack on Instagram. Andy and Scott played video games, during which time Scott became increasingly intrigued with Andy's abilities and his limitations. Scott then asked Andy to use his powers to destroy his softball trophy, though Andy declined, stating that he could only do it when he's angry, but Lauren interjected, stating that he couldn't do it at all, and that Scott should stop encouraging him. While scrolling on Instagram, Lauren made a startling discovery. It was a post of their home, which had been vandalized by Lucas, someone that Andy had gone to school with since the second grade. Seeing this. Andy grew angry, so much so that he tore Scott's trophy apart. Their mother then entered the room after hearing the noise created by Scott's nearly dismembered trophy. Lauren claimed that everything was fine, and that Andy and Scott were just roughhousing. Andy asked if uncle Danny was going to help them, to which their she replied that they were working on it.
The next morning, Lauren and Andy came downstairs to find John and Marcos in the living room. They had come to bring Lauren, Andy and Caitlin back to Headquarters, as they weren't safe anywhere else, proven by the angry mob that arrived outside soon thereafter. As for how the mob even knew they were at uncle Danny's house, Scott revealed that he texted the picture of the torn apart trophy to one of his friends that swore he wouldn't tell anyone else. They were surrounded. While John could get them through a wall, if the mob out front started shooting while they ran, a fight would surely ensue. Andy however questioned why they should run in the first place, given that they could easily take down a few men with guns, though Lauren wasn't so sure, referring to them as an army.
However, John agreed with Andy in the sense that they could easily handle the mob but pointed, that would result in people dying, which they sought to avoid. Hoping to avoid any further altercation as well, uncle Danny went out to calm Chuck Sanders who was leading them and the mob. After Chuck hit Danny with his rifle, Andy hit back, sending out a wave of destructive telekinetic energy, knocking the mob back. Chuck stood to his feet, and aimed his rifle at Andy, though John luckily got Andy out of the line of fire while Marcos shot a ray of light at Chuck's gun, forcing him to drop it. They then took advantage of this opportunity, getting into the SUV while Marcos kept the mob at bay.
Despite making it to the SUV, and driving off, they were still being pursued by the "local mutant welcoming group". On their way back to headquarters, John and Marcos called Sonya, hoping that she could devise a plan to to save them, as they couldn't afford a fight, especially one that would leaves corpses. The SUV was repeatedly shot at, and unfortunately, Lauren couldn't shield what she couldn't see, thus rendering her useless against the gunfire. With that being said, Caitlin instructed Lauren and Andy to stay down. Luckily, Sonya was successful in coming up with plan. With the pursuit still in full form, they rounded the corner to the sight of Blink, standing in the middle of the road, holding open a portal large enough for the entire truck to fit through. After passing through the portal, they found themselves just outside the entrance of the Underground with everyone miraculously unharmed.
"eXit strategy"[]
Lauren was with her brother as John briefed the rest of the Mutant Underground on the situation with Polaris, their father, and the transfer. In the end while several agreed to assist in the rescue attempt, but many others refused. When Andy voiced his concern on their chance of rescuing Reed, Caitlin told them both that they could not afford to think negatively and told her children that sometimes in life they had to take risk.
John later filled in the team on the information Eclipse had acquired from Carmen about the bus's route. They had come to the conclusion they needed to find a way to stop the bus without getting Lorna, Reed, or anyone else killed.
Lauren overheard and found Andy telling him that they needed to figure out a way to stop a bus safely. Lauren pointed out Andy‘s abilities and suggested if he could destroy a wheel on the bus, However, Andy told her it was not precise when he used his powers and he could risks destroying the entire bus with everyone their father included inside. With this Lauren suggested that she could use her own powers to contain and focus Andy’s. They tested it out on a lamppost, and to their delight it worked.
Lauren and Andy showed their new ability to John and Caitlin. While John was impressed, Caitlin dissaproved of throwing her children into the fray and did not want them involved. Lauren argued with her mother, reminding her of what she had said before of how somethings we’re worth fighting for. With this Caitlin relented and agreed to let them go, so long as they were kept out of harm’s way.
The next day Lauren and Andy got into place on top of a building where they would stop the convoy. When Lauren noticed her mother struggling with the medical supplies she volunteered to help. Andy mentioned how strangely quiet it was, which caused Lauren to remember that it was Sunday, which was the same day of the football team's fundraiser breakfast, which she was suppose to have made corn muffins for. Darkly noting that them stopping a government operated convoy was the furthest thing from that.
At this moment the convoy arrived and Lauren and Andy prepared to combine powers to disengage the transport bus, however, Andy suddenly began to fail to come through on his end. Deciding that the only thing that will motivate Andy enough is anger Lauren harshly began to blame him for ruining their lives, antagonizing him even further by claiming the bullies who tormented him were right about him. Lauren challenged her brother to prove them wrong. Successfully angered and allowing his rage to fuel his power, Andy and Lauren attacked the tire of the transport bus and successfully brought it to an abrupt stop. Lauren apologized for attacking him, noting that he was better when he was angry. Having fulfilled their end of the mission, Lauren, Andy, and Caitlin then prepared to leave the area.
Caitlin lead them away from the fight, but they found Sentinel Services agents searching their car. Lauren then tried to use her power, but it failed. Caitlin then injected the soldier with something that knocked him out. She then sent Lauren and Andy away assuring them that she would bring their father back and told Lauren to take the car and drive her and her brother back to the HQ which she reluctantly did.
boXed in"[]
Making it back safety to the Underground Headquarters Lauren and Andy were delighted to see their father and embraced him. However, at this time the mutant Fade saw Reed and attacked him. John broke up the fight, but Fade revealed to the entire room that Reed was working for Sentinel Services.
Lauren was the first to admit that while her father used to prosecute mutants, he later stood up to Sentinel Services when he found out about her and her brother being mutants. However, Lauren was unaware that her father had wore a tracker into Fade's bar. Reed then stepped forward to apologize for his actions, reasoning that he did what he had to do in order to get back to his family.
Lauren and Andy followed their mother into the vault to help treat Harry for his gunshot wounds. Their mother takes a look at his wounds before instructing Clarice to get her clean gauze and painkillers. Dilaudid, fentanyl, even codeine. Despite Caitlin's efforts, the Struckers were starting to draw a lot of uncomfortable attention. Andy noteed to Lauren how they were being looked at and with that believed that it was time for them to leave the station. Rather than running however Lauren suggested gaining the Underground's trust. Their mother then called them over to assist with aiding Harry.
As Lauren applied pressure to Harry's wounds, they discovered that they were running out of supplies, Saline to be exact, which left Andy wondering if Harry is going to survive the operation. Caitlin revealed that What they truly need to possibly save Harry's life is actual blood so Andy offered to donate his blood given that he was 0-negative, a universal donor. Caitlin then began the transfusion.
Caitlin told Lauren to keep pressure on the entry wound while she made a midline incision to remove the bullet, which had been lodged fairly deep. Caitlin, equipped with a scalpel, sliced Harry's stomach open wide. After removing the bullet, Harry began to bleed profusely. He was hemorrhaging, meaning that an artery must have been cut which unfortunately, Caitlin was not capable of stopping without a pair cross-clamp. Luckily Lauren suspected that she may be able to stop the bleeding with one of her shields so she asked her mother to show her where the nicked artery was located. After getting the shield in place, Caitlin sewn Harry up while Lauren continued to apply pressure via her shield. Thankfully, it seems as if all their efforts paid off, as Harry would survive. In the process of saving him, they had also earned the trust of the refugees who quietly observed from afar.
That night, just as Lauren prepared for dinner with Andy and their mother, Reed returned from his mission with Fade to redirect the police search from the station. All four of them sat around the table, enjoying their first meal together as a family in quite some time since Reed was captured. Andy then asked what was next for them: if they were still headed for Mexico since that was the initial plan. However, they would not be leaving the station anytime soon given that it was still unsafe to travel due to the heavy police presence and Reed himself had also been talking to some of the people around the station who had questions about Sentinel Services, which he could help them with. So, for the time being, they would remain with the Underground, especially considering that they could use all the help they could get.
"got your siX"[]
Lauren and Andy were tasked with handing out supplies to the new wave of refugees that had arrived at the station. While Andy was grateful that they at least now had beds before the rush, Lauren reminded him that there presence the reason for the rush as Sentinel Services was still looking for them. As Andy headed back downstairs to get more water, Lauren was approached by a refugee named Wes. A fellow mutant who had the ability of image manipulation. He asked Lauren for her name an attempted to firt with her, though Lauren wasn't interested in conversation as she was busy with the refugees. , Wes then used his powers to seemingly make the once crowded room of unsettled refugees into a secure sleeping quarters within seconds. While impressed with his ability, Lauren told him she still had refugees to attend to.
Lauren watched from the window above as Andy and her father geared up to leave with Marcos for the Federal building in Baton Rouge to uncover the top secret program that Sentinel Services had been working on. Wes joined her by the window to ask if everything was okay. Lauren proceeded to explain that their current predicament was weird considering that only three weeks ago, their craziest family outing was to Six Flags and with the way things were going, she wasn't sure about anything anymore, though she didn't have time to talk about it with work piling up.
After ensuring that the refugees were taken care of, Lauren joined Wes along with fellow mutant children Naya and Skyler for training with Lorna. Lorna explained to them that In the real world, they would be "playing for keeps", and as a result the same rules would be applying during training. Skyler stepped forward as Lorna grabbed a hammer from a toolbox and asked if he was ready before launching the hammer in his direction. Prepared for the attack, Skyler was able to repel the hammer.
Wes volunteered to be next up, creating an illusion in the shape of flowers to appear in place of Lorna's metal tools. While the others were amused, Lorna was angered and scolded Wes for his childish behavior as despite all that has happened, they still had fail to grasp the dangers they would face in the real word. Lauren then came forward as it was her turn. Although, she was prepared for whatever Lorna had to throw at her, Caitlin would not stand for it, and stepped in front of Lauren. Openly opposing Lorna's dangerous training methods. Lauren begged her mother to allow her to participate in the training session, but Caitlin refused once more, telling Lauren to come with her.
Lauren was later taken to the "office furniture graveyard" by Wes who wanted to get to know her. He asked about her mother and her reaction to the training session. Lauren explained that her mother didn't understand her powers because she had just found out about them three weeks ago, despite powers having had manifested years before. Wes questions why Lauren would hide her true-self. Lauren explained to him that she wanted a normal life, though Wes pointed pretending that she was normal when she knew she wasn't, was much worse, which she agreed with.
Telling Wes that it was terrible when she would pretend as if everything was fine while secretly counting down the days until graduation, when she could move far away to someplace like Florence. However, with the way her life was going now, that was never likely to happen. Wes then created an illusion of Florence before her very eyes. The illusion being so realistic that even the water was moving, which was something he'd never done before. Wes suspected that he was better when with Lauren. Unfortunately, Lauren humorously pointed out that what Wes believed was Florence, was actually Rome, as she could see the Vatican but told him it was beautiful all the same, before leaving.
Lauren, Caitlin and Lorna later learned from John that Marcos, Andy, and Reed were heading into an ambush after successfully recovering the secret files from the Baton Rouge Federal Building. Despite getting away the first time, Lorna explained that the cops stopped them on their way to Baton Rouge and while they didn't find anything, the driver said he was going to Denver, so they were marked by the tollway cameras when spotted in Baton Rogue. With John failing to come up with a plan, Lauren devised a plan of her own, one that involved Wes creating one of his illusions. John and Caitlin stay behind while Lorna and Wes headed out to save Marcos, Reed, and Andy. Lauren however also wanted to join them, reasoning that if her plan didn't work, they'd need her. However, the only thing stopping her was her mother, who eventually agreed to let her go.
Lauren, Polaris and Wes arrive at the nearby stadium to get a skyline view of the roadblock being set up by police and Sentinel Services in preparation for Andy, Reed, and Eclipse's arrival. While on the phone with Eclipse, Polaris instructed him to tell the driver to keep going no matter what, and that they would handle the rest. Polaris then told Lauren that they were going to use her shields to get the truck through the roadblock. However, there was the question of whether or not were Lauren shields even strong enough for a truck to drive over. However, Polaris assured her to focus and forget about everything except the target. After that, it was all up to Wes. As the truck neared the roadblock, Sentinel Services and Atlanta PD opened fire. Polaris electromagnetically halted the bullets being directed at the truck while Lauren formed a row of shields on the road, acting as a ramp, which propelled the truck clear over the roadblock. Wes then created an illusion of the truck going down two separate paths, all while cloaking the real truck that kept driving ahead assuring Marcos, Reed and Andy would make it back safely.
"eXtreme measures"[]
Lauren had been taken out to the roof and onto the scaffolding by Wes as he had something to show her. Lauren wanted to head back inside out of fear that they will be seen on the roof, a forbidden area, though Wes convinced her otherwise. She joined Wes further onto the scaffolding, looking over, only to see the ground. Wes told her to close her eyes, as he grabbed her arms and placed them in an outward motion. After creating an illusion of the two of them being high up in the air, over a river in the mountains, Lauren and Wes leaned over the rail, to simulate flight. she remarked that the sight was gorgeous. They then leaned in to share a kiss, but Andy interrupted to get Lauren for lunch, at their mother's request.
Lauren and Andy soon made their way downstairs, joining their mother for lunch. Although, she was curious as to what took them so long. Andy said that he couldn't find Lauren, so he looked on the roof, which again, was off limits, but he then covered for Lauren by saying that he didn't find her there either. When Caitlin asked where was she, Lauren lied and said that she was downstairs in the supply room, where she had lost track of time. Caitlin then reminded them about the homework she had assigned and how she wanted them turned in tomorrow. Humorously neither Lauren nor Andy took her serious when she initially assigned it. Unfortunately however their mother told them that this was the deal they had made with their her if they wanted to train, they'd have to study as well.
Lauren returned supposedly from the basement as some of the refugees needed more towels. However, her mother and father knew this to be a lie. They told her that they needed to talk to her about Wes. Lauren immediately assumed that it's about them not wanting her to date a mutant but her father showed her Wes' file that he recovered from the encrypted drive from the federal building. Lauren read the file, but she was in denial that Wes had committed the crimes being accused of him. Lauren proceeded to defend him by pointing out that they've all broken the law by now but as her dad pointed out, they broke the law out of survival. Wes did it out of greed, by conning a jewelry store owner. Lauren then came to the conclusion that her father hadn't changed a bit. As he still assumed the worst of mutants with little to no proof. Reed wanted her to look at the situation from clear eyes, but she pleaded with him to stop as she walked off teary eyed.
Although later, she didn't want to ask, Lauren knew that it had to be done and confronted Wes to ask if he is the wanted mutant fugitive that was being depicted in the police file. He reluctantly confessed that he was indeed the mutant from the file. His explanation was that he was a mess after his parents kicked him out and was living in shelters and eating out of dumpsters until he was found by a group of guys that allowed him to join their crew. He was merely their front man, essentially tasked with covering things up and tricking people. Lauren was however especially frustrated with Wes' actions after he had just told her not to hide her powers, having made it seem as if he used his powers proudly. Wes claimed that he was desperate back then and that he needed Lauren to trust him, though she found it difficult to trust him considering that he lied to her and angrily left.
That night, while eating with her family, Wes interrupted to let them know that he had spoken with Sage and the others, informing them of all he had done. He also told them that it was all behind him and that he was going to be a better guy moving forward. They discussed it and decided to give him a chance to prove himself. He then apologized for lying to them all and thanked Lauren's father for a talk that they had earlier. Lauren wondered if this meant that he was going to stay at the station. Unfortunately, it did not as there was a group going to a station in Augustus they had asked Wes to join them, much to Lauren's disappointment.
The next day, as Wes headed out for the Augustus station, Lauren joined him outside to give him a goodbye kiss, then watched as he drove off.
"threat of eXtinction"[]
Lauren, Andy and their mother learn from their father that Sentinel Services has been working with a defense contractor called Trask Industries, which is the same company that his father (Lauren and Andy's grandfather) used to work. Lauren and Andy had always been told that their grandfather ran out on their father and grandmother years ago, but that isn't entirely true. He actually lives out in Chattanooga, which is only two hours away, yet Lauren and Andy have never even met him, which her mother explains was intentional because their grandfather, Otto wasn't good to their father, Reed when raising him. Lauren and Andy's grandfather, Otto was a difficult man that was always working and never close with his family. When their father, Reed was a child, he got sick and almost died, yet their grandfather, Otto didn't even bother coming to visit him at the hospital. Sympathizing with her father, Reed's pain, Lauren holds his hand. Their father, Reed and grandfather, Otto haven't spoken since before Lauren and Andy were born, but that will have to change if they desire to know more about Trask Industries and their affiliation with Sentinel Services.
After Lauren says goodbye to her father, Reed who was leaving for Chattanooga with John, Lauren helps her mother pop back in the arm of one of the newest mutant refugees at the station. He was injured during a fight between one of Trask' Hounds (later to be identified as Chloe Tan) and Thunderbird, Eclipse and Blink, following the attack on the station in Perry. Andy then steps in to assist Lauren with putting on the refugee's sling.
Upon further examination of the apprehended Hound, who they have locked in the cell, they begin to suspect that she is suffering from drug withdrawals given that she has all the symptoms. Marcos asks if they've ever seen a mutant on Kick, which is a power enhancing mutant drug that is highly addictive and makes the user feel invincible. However, as Lauren explains, the effects are only temporary. If that is the case, then her mother believes they can treat Chloe, which only frustrates Lorna, who thinks treating her will only allow the prisoner to get stronger and provide her with the opportunity to kill them. However, Marcos believes that treatment may lead to their questions getting answered. As they argue, Caitlin reminds them that them that they're fighting for a world where people can live together.
Lauren and Andy volunteer to restrain the prisoner in order for their mother to be able to properly treat her, which will hopefully result in them getting answers from her. Andy will push her back towards the bars while Lauren holds her back with a shield long enough for their mother to inject with her the "sleep juice". However, Caitlin is merely guessing on the dosage in which she would inject into the prisoner. So if something goes wrong, she will look for Marcos and Lorna to step in, who are on standby. Just as planned, Andy pushes the prisoner back against the rails, which allows Lauren to hold her still with a shield while their mother comes up from behind to inject her with an unknown substance that renders her unconscious almost immediately.
After removing her from the cell and locking her down onto the table, Lauren, Andy, Lorna and Marcos watch as Caitlin inject Chloe with medication to help with her withdrawals, though it won't matter given that Chloe is dying from the massive amounts of drugs that Sentinel Services has given her. This is reason for concern as Marcos suspects that she won't tell them anything if she is already dying. Caitlin isn't so sure however. She once treated a gang member with a fatal gunshot wound. As he was dying, he told the cops everything he'd done just to get it off his chest.
While her mother treated Chloe, Lauren is approached by one of the new refugees, a larger man, who is quite intimidating in size. He is upset that they have taken the prisoner out of the cell despite what she is capable of. While Lauren understands his frustration, she asks that he stay back because they need to figure out who she is and where she came from. In doing that, they'd be keeping everyone safe, but the man doesn't seem to care much for what she has to say, forcing Andy to step in. He warns the larger man to back off, making the station shake as he does so, which works as an effective form of intimidation. The larger man's attitude quickly downsizes and he backs off. Lauren thanks Andy for coming to her aid. He tells her that she is his sister and that only he can talk to her like that.
Despite Lauern's mother, Caitlin's best efforts, Chloe dies from her withdrawals later that evening, just as they suspected she would. Although, they did discover that Sentinel Services killed her husband and took her daughter, and that she was connected to Trask Industries, which they now know is North of the station thanks to Esme, another new refugee. Lauren later greets her father with a hug as he returns from Chattanooga with devastating news. He enters the room, visibly upset. From him, they learns that his father was murdered during an attack by Sentinel Services. Hearing this, Lauren and Andy held hands while their mother comforted their father.
"outfoX"[]
That night, whilst everyone slept, Lauren and Andy lie awake with the startling revelation of their grandfather being a mutant. However, Andy had come to learn that it wasn't just their grandfather who was a mutant in their family. He found a book in the station's library that covered a portion of their family, more specially their great-grandfather Andreas Von Strucker and his sister Andre. During the 1950s, they were known as Fenris. They supposedly wiped out an entire building full of people within seconds by holding hands and combining powers. They were also rumored to be part of a shadowy international organization known as the Hellfire Club. They disappeared fleeing from the X-Men. However, they were some of the most powerful mutants ever. Lauren is applauded at her family's history and decides to cut their history lesson short.
After explaining the news to Lauren and Andy that they might share the same ability as their ancestors to combine powers, their parents suggests that they test to see if they did in fact inherit the Fenris Force. They learned the hard way that discovering mutant abilities by accident isn't ideal so they decided to test it in a controlled environment. Lauren, Andy, Reed and Caitlin head to the vault, where Lauren and Andy conjoin hands. When nothing happens, Andy asks Lauren to try again. They join hands once more and this time they begin to glow. The two begin to light up as their hair blows upward in a dramatic fashion. They proceed to build up their energy until Reed forcefully pulls their hands apart. Lauren and Andy explain that it was like they could feel everything around them and could've torn the entire building down with everyone in it. Reed and Caitlin are frightened.
Lauren and Andy explain that when they combined their powers, everything around them more so disappeared. They weren't two people anyone, but a conjoined force, almost as if they were seeing out of the same eyes. Reed recalls them saying that they could've destroyed the building. He questions how they knew that. Lauren replies that she could feel it. Andy pushes things apart while she does the opposite by pulling them together. Combined, it was like they could do anything. They were looking at the wall in front of them and they could've vaporized it. Andy wants to practice to hone this newly discovered ability, but Lauren agrees with their parents in it being too dangerous. Andy storms off when Reed points out that he can barely control his own powers let alone his and Lauren's. So Lauren chases after him.
Lauren calls out to Andy to explain that their parents only want to protect him. But Andy sees it as everyone else viewing him as a freak because he doesn't hate his powers. Lauren corrects him when she reveals that she doesn't hate her powers either, in fact, she never felt more powerful than when they joined abilities. It scared her because it felt good. They both recall the first time it happened at the park a year ago, which was before Andy even knew he was a mutant. He started messing up in school around this point because he couldn't get that out of his mind. All Andy wants to do is try combining their power again, which forces him to question if this means they're going to turn out like the von Struckers
The Mutant Underground hatches a plan to take down Trask Industries. So they call down the Struckers to ask Lauren and Andy can assist in disengaging the substation transformers, similar to how they stopped the prison convoy. While it is admittedly a lot to ask, they feel as if they have no other choice as everyone else with combat powers will be assaulting the lab. Hopefully, they can take down the power substation without putting Andy and Lauren in danger. Sage hacked the security cameras and the station only has a handful of guards. Clarice will portal everyone in, and from there, Sonya will guide them. They'd been through every option. Unfortunately, the plan with Lauren and Andy is the only one that can work. Having said that, both Lauren and Andy are willing to help in whatever way they can. Reed and Caitlin agree to allow the kids to take out the transformers, but only if they can monitor security. With a plan set in motion, they'll be moving out within the hour.
Lauren, Andy, Reed, Caitlin, Dreamer and Blink later arrive at the substation. Reed and Caitlin stay inside the surveillance van to monitor the cameras while Blink portals everyone else inside the substation. Dreamer, Blink, Lauren, and Andy progress forward into the power station. After waiting for a couple employees to pass, Dreamer guides the team throughout the building. However, she isn't entirely sure she knows where she is going because the guard that she borrowed the memory from had only been in the substation a few times, thus the memory is a bit hazy. After the team passes the conference room, Reed warns them of an incoming guard. Dreamer slowly approaches the guard with a friendly demeanor until getting close enough where she can blow smoke into his face, resulting in the guard dispatching of his gun and radio before walking pass them.
The alarm begins to sound as Dreamer, Blink, Lauren and Andy proceed throughout the building. To make matters worse, a Sentinel robot and armed team is quickly approaching. So the team begins looking for an exit as it is time to abort the mission. Unfortunately, Blink is unfamiliar with the building's structure. So she can't portal them out. As the Sentinel turns the corner, Andy attempts to rip it apart, but to no avail. The four of them start to run in the opposite direction. However, they don't make it far. Blink is the first to be apprehended, as the Sentinel jumps onto her back and pins her to the ground.
With Sentinel Services seconds behind them, Dreamer, Lauren and Andy make their way to the basement of the building. Dreamer unlocks the basement door for Lauren and Andy to pass through. However, she shut the door behind them, sacrificing herself in order to provide them a chance to escape. The two siblings enter a vacant lot panicked and scared, realizing there is no way out. Lauren convinces Andy to combine their powers to get out as they did before. She wants to take the building down. Andy agrees and they conjoin hands. However, Andy comes to a realization and pulls away from Lauren. Andy explains that they're in the basement of the building. If they use their conjoined power, the whole building will come down, killing everyone inside, leaving them with no other option but to surrender as Agent Turner, Agent Weeks and their team enter the lot with their weapons drawn. Agent Turner tells them it's over as they get on their knees and ability suppressing collars are placed around their neck.
"eXploited"[]
At the Sentinel Services Regional Headquarters, Lauren and Andy are placed in neighboring cells. Andy notes that the power suppressing collars itch. Hopefully, that's all it does, Lauren retorts. As Andy grows restless and anxious, Lauren attempts to calm him. But she fails as his powers begin to manifest, which triggers the collar to give Andy a high voltage shock. He wonders what is going to happen next. They have to be charged at some point. Lauren surmises that they'll be brought up on charges of terrorism. Leaving them both in a state of fear. Andy begins to regret his decisions to not combine powers in the basement to escape, but Lauren assures him that he made the right decision as a lot of innocent people would've died otherwise.
Lauren, Andy, Sonya and Clarice are transferred to Trask labs. Lauren and Andy are brought into Dr. Campbell's office. Immediately, Lauren questions what was done to Clarice and Sonya. Dr. Campbell assures her that they are fine. His concern is only Lauren and Andy, who are now wearing skintight jumpsuits that'll measure their biometrics. It'll help give Trask an accurate reading on the full extent of Lauren and Andy's abilities. They're the great-grandchildren of Andreas Von Strucker. He and his sister Andrea shared a trait that Campbell believes Lauren and Andy have inherited. The ability to combine their powers. However, Lauren claims to have no knowledge of what Campbell is referring to. Although, he isn't buying it. Their father has been exploring his past, which includes their grandfather Otto's Trask research. Dr. Campbell orders that they be taken to testing to determine whether or not they share their ancestors' special gift.
Lauren and Andy are taken into an indestructible cell lined with adamantium. An extremely rare, metallic alloy. Took a while to acquire, but they had found some in a defunct military installation in British Columbia. Dr. Campbell tells them to face the sensors, join hands to combine abilities and demonstrate what they're capable of. With their collars turned off, Campbell requests they give it all they got, but they refuse. So he shocks Lauren. But even then she still refuses, as does Andy.
In the adamantium cell, Lauren and Andy wonder how much longer they will be kept inside. While the shocking hurts, Lauren refuses to combine her and Andy's powers for Campbell. If they hold out long enough, Lauren is sure that someone will come for them. Dr. Campbell returns, this time around with Sonya and Clarice as additional motivation. Dr. Campbell holds Sonya and Clarice at gunpoint and threatens to kill them should Lauren and Andy refuse to comply with his demands. Despite knowing the dangers she faces, Sonya tells Andy and Lauren not to combine their powers, which angers Dr. Campbell. When she repeats this sentiment to the Strucker kids once more, Dr. Campbell grows tired of both her interference and Andy and Lauren's refusal to obey. So as a show of force, he shoots Sonya in the chest without hesitation. She dies instantly as her lifeless body hit the ground and pink smoke exits her mouth.
Dr. Campbell points the gun at Clarice's head and demands that Lauren and Andy face the sensors or else Clarice will suffer the same fate as Sonya. Andy looks to Lauren for answers though neither of them know what to do next. Lauren even appears to be in shock. With Clarice still being held at gunpoint, shaking her head no, Lauren and Andy decide to conjoin hands and combine powers in order to save her life. Just like before, their hands glow and their hair blows upward in a dramatic motion. As they hold hands and the light seemingly courses throughout their body, Lauren and Andy direct their blast at the sensors. However, they are approaching the limits of the sensors though Campbell isn't concerned as the room is supposedly indestructible. Lauren and Andy disprove that theory by greatly denting the wall of the adamantium cell and completely destroying the wall of the neighboring lab.
That night, Lauren and Andy sit in their cells, upset over Sonya's death. They blame themselves for Campbell killing her. She told them not to do it, but they did it anyway, essentially making her death meaningless. Lauren can't believe that Campbell just blew her away so effortlessly. Andy looks to Lauren for reassurance that everything is going to be okay, but not even she is sure anymore because Campbell now has whatever it is that he wanted from them.
Some time later, Lauren and Andy are boarded onto a transport bus by Sentinel Services, along with Clarice and Esme's identical sisters Sophie and Phoebe. Before they even make it past the front gate, one agent kills two of his fellow agents before killing himself while under telepathic mind control. Lauren, Andy, Clarice and the other mutant prisoners then exit the transport vehicle after removing their collars.
"3 X 1"[]
Days later, the Mutant Underground holds a funeral for Sonya. The entire station is in attendance. After Marcos and Lorna say a few kind words on her behalf, the Struckers place flowers on her grave.
Afterwards, Caitlin asks Lauren and Andy if they want to talk about what went down in the lab and Sonya's death, but they would rather not as talking about it only makes them feel worse. Their father understands that the station is now filled with difficult memories. It's one of the reasons that he and their mother have been considering moving on. However, Lauren and Andy disagree with their decision to abandon the station as they see it as giving up. Reed and Caitlin almost lost them a few days ago and don't want to risk that happening again. Besides, there was a lot of tension that they don't want to get caught in the middle of. They want to head up to Mexico as planned, but Lauren and Andy believe they can make a difference while with the Underground.
Esme and her sisters stop by the station unannounced soon thereafter. They've come peacefully as they only desire to talk about the Hound program, which is expanding, and they want the Underground's help in taking it down.
Lauren approaches Andy while he sketches a picture of a wolf. She comes to get him for the school that their mother had arranged. Andy can't believe that Lauren's bothering him about school when there's more important matters at hand, like Esme and her sisters. Andy then comments on their mother also abandoning the school she started at the station. Lauren didn't want to leave either, but maybe with everything going on, it's best they leave. While Clarice didn't tell anyone what they did in the lab, people know that something happened. And with Esme and her sisters around, it's a bad time to be at the station. But Andy argues that it may be the best time.
As Lauren's on her way out to join her family as they're leaving the station for their own saftey, Clarice tells her that just leaving isn't going to solve anything because the Underground is going to have a real problem on their hands with or without the Frost Sisters. Lauren explains that it was neither her idea nor choice. So Clarice offers her a word of advice. Running isn't going to solve anything they're facing at the moment. At some point they're going to have to take a stand. Lauren recalls doing just that, but it got Sonya killed. However, Clarice insists that Sonya's death isn't Lauren's fault. She learned the hard way that hate feeds on fear. So, if they run, hate wins.
The Struckers arrive at the Fairburn station. When they enter, the station is seemingly vacant. However, as they proceed forward they learn that Wes is merely creating an illusion of an empty station. Lauren is thrilled to see him and they embrace. He'd been helping out with security, ensuring that no one sees them there unless they want to be seen. Lauren informs Wes that they're leaving for Mexico. They've got about 20 mutants and they're still arranging a ride. So until then, Wes gets them some dinner. Reed notes that it's good to see Wes again, before he heads off with Lauren to catch up.
The next day, at the Fairburn station, Lauren and Wes handle the supplies. Wes tells Lauren that she doesn't have to help, but she wants to. It feels better when she's doing something as it's been getting harder for her to sleep. Wes heard about what happened at the lab with Sonya. Lauren can't help but wonder what if she had done something different that maybe Sonya might be alive. While Lauren can't take back what happened, she can let it make her stronger. Wes likes to think a lot of bad stuff happened to him, but it had to happen, because it led him to his current situation. With her family going to Mexico, she won't be there much longer. That's fine with Wes. As long as he got to see Lauren one last time. They then kiss.
Later, Reed announces that he checked in with the transport people and there's a trucking company that might be able to help them. But there's still a chance they could stay longer, allowing Lauren to spend more time with Wes. Assuming they are staying, Andy wants to go back to Atlanta, but Reed reminds him that the whole point of leaving was to get away from Atlanta. Caitlin reminds him that they've already talked about this. Sentinel Services then arrive with the Inertia and Gravity Hound, who are wearing some kind of manacle that allows them to combine abilities. They snatch an entire window out of the building.
Fortunately, Wes manages to create an illusion and cloak them in time before they are spotted by Sentinel Services and the Hounds. Agent Turner and Dr. Campbell watch from the surveillance van as the Hounds tear the building down. They can flush out the mutants without Turner needing to send his men in harms way. Wes tells them to make a run for it while he covers them, but Andy wants to fight. He looks to Lauren for help, but before they can join hands, Andy is struck the a massive wave of energy and knocked unconscious. Lauren sees the manacle around the Hounds' hands and realize that this is why Dr. Campbell wanted them to join their powers at Trask.
Unfortunately, Wes is able to maintain the illusion no more, making the Struckers vulnerable to attack. Lauren, however, shields them from Sentinel Services' gunfire. Thunderbird, Eclipse, Polaris and Blink find the Struckers and Wes on the south end and see them to safety though it is no easy task as the Hounds continuously strike the building with great power. Thunderbird, Eclipse, Polaris Blink, Lauren, Wes, Andy, Reed and Caitlin quietly move throughout the woods, hoping not to alert any nearby agents. To make matters worse, Thunderbird's foresight reveals that their car has been discovered. Andy then jumps to his feet and leads the group out of the woods, claiming that "they" said it was safe. "They" turn out to be the Frost Sisters, who are waiting by the road with escape vehicles.
Back at HQ, Lauren joins her mother to see if Wes will be okay. Caitlin explains that he used his powers for a long time. His body's exhausted. Once he rehydrates, he'll recover. Clarice comments that both Wes and Lauren are tough kids for holding out and lasting as long as they did against the Hounds. Lauren replies that she had to because like Clarice said, hatred feeds on fear. Clarice is glad that Lauren is back as they can use all the help they can get.
"eXtraction"[]
After seeing Wes off to Augusta, Lauren finds Andy in the vault reading about their ancestors Andreas and Andrea Von Strucker. Andy's curious about their family history though Lauren can't be any less interested. Andy explains that Andreas wasn't a psycho as the book portrays him to be given that it was written by humans, and by Andy account is therefore bias. According to Andy, Andreas and Andrea were apparently trying to build a separate place for mutants.
But as Lauren explains, that's exactly what the underground is. Andy disagrees as the station is merely a place to hide while Andreas wanted more for them. Lauren argues that the Mutant Underground is more than just a safe house. They're saving people while Lauren and Andy's ancestors on the other hand were murders. Lauren then begins to suspect that the Frost Sisters have gotten in Andy head after he praised them for at least treating him like an adult. Lauren claims they're liars but Andy thinks they're the only ones telling the truth.
Andy is frustrated that he and Lauren have been tasked with watering plants while there are more important matters to be attended to, like Campbell, who is likely moving ahead with his program. Lauren tells Andy that the Underground is going after him, but Andy wants to be apart of the assault. He recalls the Hounds that ambushed them at the Fairburn station and how they combined their powers.
Andy feels responsible as Campbell managed to combine their powers through him and Lauren giving Campbell what he wanted back at the lab. But Lauren explains that going out and attacking people will solve nothing. The Underground is a team and they're part of that. Their parents interrupt the discussion to inform them that Sentinel Services is going after their grandmother, and that they have to get to her first.
The Struckers arrive at Southern Worldwide to retrieve grandma Ellen. Their mother and father goes up to the office while Lauren and Andy stay on the ground to guard outside. Their mother tells them if there's any kind of trouble to return to the station. Just outside, Lauren and Andy stand guard for Sentinel Services. While Lauren is prepared to run should a problem arise, as advised by their parents, Andy wants to fight. Which Lauren fears will only make matters worse.
However, considering what they can do, if Sentinel Services does show up, Andy says that he and Lauren won't be the ones in trouble. They agents will be. Lauren again tries to reason with Andy, explaining that their powers come with responsibilities and the last thing they want is for people to be scared of them. Andy counters that maybe they should be scared. Maybe if they were more scared then they wouldn't be going after their grandmother Ellen just because she's related to them.
Lauren calls her father to inform him that Sentinel Services has just arrived. Reed, Caitlin and Ellen quickly make their way out the office to meet with Lauren and Andy downstairs. As the agents approach, Lauren plans to find an exit, but Andy prepares to fight.
Andy steps out into the open and the two agents immediately draw their weapons and demand that he put his hands in the air. Andy makes them regret that request when he puts his hands up and sends the agents flying back. Although, Andy doesn't want to stop there. So Lauren makes him stop by obstructing his path with a shield. He gets angry and turns his powers on her. But Lauren counters his attack, which blows up in both of their faces, knocking both of them to the ground. At that moment, Caitlin, Reed and Ellen exit the building. Everyone gets into the SUV and they speed off.
Lauren and Andy stay back at the SUV as their mother and father speak with their grandmother. Lauren and Andy refuse to even speak to one another after the incident outside of their grandmother's work place where they used their powers against one another. While the Mutant Underground is coming to pick them up, however, their grandmother won't be going with them. She would only hold them up. Though, she has no intentions on going home either. She has a friend in Boca Raton who lives way out of town and she has enough money to get there. Lauren begins to cry as she explains that they are still the same people they've always been. Ellen says that this isn't true. They're so much more. She then gives Lauren and Andy a hug before parting ways.
Noticing that something is wrong, their mother confronts them on their odd behavior towards one another. She demands to know what went down in the parking lot because when they came out both Lauren and Andy were on the ground and they haven't spoken to each other since. Andy claims it was only a disagreement, but Lauren explains it was much more as he almost killed the agents. Caitlin informs them that they need to stick together as a family, but Andy doesn't need to hear it, so he claims as he's the one person in the family that's proud to be a von Strucker. When he walks off, Caitlin looks to Lauren to work it out with him as they are family, but as Lauren explains, something has changed in Andy.

Character traits[]
Lauren is an intelligent and kind individual, unlike her younger brother, Andy Strucker; she had a good social life before they were outed as mutants. Having had her powers for 3 years, Lauren tries to help her younger brother, Andy and mentor him on how to control his powers.
Unlike Andy at the time, Lauren is appalled by the actions that her great-grandfather, Andreas von Strucker and her great-aunt, Andrea von Strucker had committed and believed them to be nothing more "psychotic murders".
Six months after Andy's departure, Lauren has become slightly hardened, depressed and withdrawn. She has also become independent, to the point of being cold, for example, Lauren coldly confronted her mother, Caitlyn, with the fact that Andy chose to leave his family and that he was not kidnapped, and that she should stop pretending that he was.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Mutant Physiology: Lauren is is an extremely powerful mutant who possesses flyrogenesis and flyrokinesis.
- Flyrogenesis: Lauren generate, create and project force fields that are composed of air molecules. At it's lowest level, Lauren's power allowed her to push a bag of popcorn off a vending machine slot with a wave of her hand. But her shields are also strong enough to deflect bullets, push away oncoming cars, and forcefully close the portals generated by an unstable Clarice. She has demonstrated a full understanding of her abilities, using them in both offensive and defensive setting, and has also proven herself to be able to improvise new uses for her powers on the spot. She was also able to create a barrier small enough to cover and apply pressure to an individual artery, which she demonstrated when she helped her mother save a wounded Harry. She also possesses the ability to create "constructs" by pushing the molecules together in a certain fashion. She used this to create a ramp strong enough to support a truck holding her brother, father, and Marcos facilitating their escape from Sentinel Services. Starting in Season 2, she is able to manifest her shields with just the extension of her hands. Her shields now also have a glowing golden hue while using them. They are powerful enough to block a moving SUV, and it has been shown Lauren has somewhat of a physical connection to her shields as seen when the force of the SUV on her shield caused her to be pushed back. Lauren can manifest her shields in different shapes or sizes, though she frequently uses them as arcs or rectangular shapes. At one point Lauren uses a shield to easily bash open a door, and at another time easily throws two guards off their feet.
- Flyrokinesis: Lauren can manipulate force fields. In "meMento", Lauren learns how to move the molecules in her shields at an accelerated rate, creating rapidly rotating shield projectiles that can easily slice through solid objects. These shields are powerful enough that Lauren can shrink them to cleanly slice through a soda bottle or large enough slice through a light pole. Lauren later uses the power to stop an incoming attack from Sentinel Services by slashing tires and slicing through tank doors and windshields. When using this form of shields, Lauren feels a deeper connection to Fenris and describes it as "not being herself".
- Mental Link: Due to both Lauren and Andy sharing two copies of the X-gene; this comes with the added power of mutual telepathy in the form of shared dreams and the power to feel each other's pain when either one of them gets hurt.
- Fenris Force: A powerful force of incredible strength. When Lauren hold hands with her brother, Andy, they are capable of producing an incredibly strong and destructive blast of light. According to Lauren and Andy themselves, they become a single collective entity, they feel everything around them, especially when inside buildings. They combine Andy's telekinesis and Lauren's force fields and produce a force they describe as being able "to do anything they want", whatever they feel, they can destroy. When the siblings join hands, Lauren's shielding power creates a chamber for Andy to dump in ever more energy from his power to harness raw hydrogen; which causes the build-up to reach critical mass before it is unleashed on to the surrounding environment.
Weaknesses[]
- Limitations: Lauren finds air molecules to be the easiest to manipulate, while other substances, such as water, present more of a challenge. She must be able to see what and where she is applying her shields to and she also needs free use of her hands in order to focus her abilities. While powerful, the Fenris Force takes time to unleash. During the preparation for utilizing the force, the users are completely vulnerable to attack.
Former weaknesses[]
- Limitations: Originally, Lauren's powers had no effect against Andy's, because her powers pull molecules together and his push them apart, they cancel each other out, as seen in "eXtraction". When this occurs, a blast of energy is released, strong enough to launch both Andy and Lauren back several feet. However, more than 6 months later, Andy has trained extensively; to the point that he can easily break through her shields. After Andy attacked Lauren, she began training extensively and researching the von Struckers to further understand her powers. Since then, Lauren's powers have grown at an alarming rate.
