- In the comics, Marlene Alraune is Marc Spector's wife.
- Layla is an original creation combining elements of Marlene Alraune and the superhero Scarlet Scarab. She is the daughter of Abdallah El-Faouly who takes inspiration from Abdul Faoul, the Scarlet Scarab in the comics. Layla becomes her own version of the Egyptian superhero when Taweret makes her an avatar and gives her the Scarlet Scarab armor
