Trivia[]
- The ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a snake or dragon eating its own tail, thereby devouring itself. It originates from ancient Egyptian icons and ancient Greek magical traditions, namely alchemy. The ouroboros is used as a symbol for the circle of life, specifically the infinite cycle of life, death and rebirth. It is interpreted in both the literal sense of how one organism's death provides the raw materials or sustenance for another to either be born or survive, but it is also interpreted in a metaphysical/spiritual sense to illustrate the cycle of reincarnation in some religions. In other religions the snake biting its tail is a fertility symbol, with the tail being a phallic (penis) symbol and the mouth symbolic of the womb.
