Loki Laufeyson (Time Heist 2012)

Loki Laufeyson is an Asgardian prince, the God of Mischief. A Frost Giant born smaller than the rest of his species, he's the adopted brother of Thor Odinson. He shared his history with his counterpart up until 2012 where, after being taken into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody following the Battle of New York, he got hold of the Tesseract and teleported away from captivity. He was subsequently captured and recruited by the Time Variance Authority.

Through the TVA and the friends that he made there, Loki would later find the glorious purpose that he had always sought as a true god and a weaver of time, protecting and maintaining the Multiverse from the End of Time.

Avengers: Endgame[]

When Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and Ant-Man traveled back to 2012 to retrieve the Chitauri Scepter, the Time Stone, and the Tesseract containing the Space Stone, they arrived before Loki was apprehended following the Battle of New York. Hulk went to get the Time Stone from the Ancient One and the others headed to Stark Tower, where they witnessed Loki asking for a drink after his defeat.

Loki was escorted to the lobby where Alexander Pierce tried to take custody of him and the Tesseract, leading to an argument between Pierce, Thor and Tony Stark. A mishap with the Hulk knocked the case holding the Tesseract out of 2023 Tony's hand and it burst open. The Tesseract landed at Loki's feet and he picked it up, teleporting away from Stark Tower through a wormhole.

It's revealed that after being sent back to the TVA, Loki was experiencing time slipping and had landed in the past when Sylvie sent him through the Time Door, thus resulting in him meeting a Mobius who did not know Loki yet. Loki was forced to evade Mobius and other TVA agents before being sent back to the present after an encounter with Casey, who also did not know Loki yet. However, Loki was soon after flung back to the past again and visited the War Room where he listened to a recording of He Who Remains thanking Ravonna Renslayer for the difference that she had made in his war, telling Ravonna that he will be proud to lead with her.

In the present, Mobius and Hunter B-15 discussed the implications of the Sacred Timeline branching and put out an order to stop pruning the branches. The two were called to answer for their actions before the judge's council that took the still-missing Ravonna's place. Hunter defended their actions and revealed that they were all Variants and while General Dox argued for pruning the new branches, Judge Gamble ordered for all pruning to be stopped immediately. Loki appeared in the War Room and used a Time Stick to burn away a mural and reveal a hidden statue of He Who Remains, causing Dox to order for Sylvie to be found by Hunter X-05.

Loki explained to Mobius what he had learned from He Who Remains and how freeing the Sacred Timeline meant that Variants of He Who Remains were coming to wage war. Concerned about Loki's disappearances, Mobius took him to Repairs & Advancement where O.B. revealed that Mobius, who had no memory of it, was the last person to visit him four hundred years before after getting lost. Loki time slipped into the past where he spoke with O.B. about his time slipping there while Mobius spoke about it with O.B. In the present. O.B. revealed to the two that Mobius would have to use a Temporal Aura Extractor on the Temporal Loom in order to pull Loki out of the time stream and into the present while Loki had to prune himself with a Time stick, but being close to the Temporal Loom for too long would cause Mobius' skin to peel off.

However, O.B. realized that the TVA's power surges were being caused by the Temporal Loom overloading due to all of the new branches on the timeline. With no one willing to prune the new branches, O.B. would need to seal the blast doors to protect the TVA until he could find a way to retrofit the Loom to handle all of the branches, but it meant that they had to resynch Loki immediately who suddenly slipped into the future. Wearing a protective suit, Mobius successfully deployed the Extractor, but Loki struggled to find a Time Stick in the future to prune himself with, forcing O.B. to close the blast doors as Mobius struggled to make it back. In the future, Loki encountered a TVA that was in the midst of an evacuation as the Temporal Loom went critical and a future version of Sylvie who greeted Loki from where she was stuck in an elevator. At the last possible second, Loki was pruned from behind by an unknown individual and was yanked from the Loom with such force that he flung himself and Mobius through the closing blast doors. Having witnessed the Loom reaching critical in the future, Loki told his friend that they had to find Sylvie.

At the TVA, Loki, Mobius, Casey, and O.B. enlisted Victor's help to fix the Temporal Loom, revealing in the process that O.B. and Victor had inspired each other's work. O.B. revealed his plan to use his Throughput Multiplier to fix the Loom with Victor helping to modify it to make the device work. However, Sylvie expressed a great deal of frustration at the TVA and Mobius in particular for seeming to not care about the branches being lost and the pasts and true history of the lives that everyone had lived before the TVA.

Loki urged Sylvie to give the TVA a chance, reminding Sylvie that she couldn't kill Victor because he was scared, recalling how he had once scorned Thor for becoming caring after his banishment on Earth, pointing out that because Sylvie did the right thing, the TVA and the existing branches and all of the people on them would survive. While the dead branches and the dead people on them were because of Dox and her people, the branches that were still living was because of Mobius, Hunter B-15, O.B. and Casey were also a part of the TVA. Loki acknowledged that destroying things and starting from scratch was the easy path, but trying to fix what was broken and hoping was the harder path, the path that he wanted to follow despite the potential dangers that would come from it. For better or worse, the timelines were free, and they couldn't just give people free will and walk away. It was up to them to protect the timelines and do better than He Who Remains. Sylvie finally agreed to help after Loki reminded her that they were gods when Sylvie called their actions playing God.

However, Dox and her men were killed by Renslayer and Miss Minutes while Brad Wolfe pruned Hunter D-90 and abducted Victor as the Temporal Loom was reaching critical, and the TVA started evacuation. Loki realized that Renslayer wanted control of the TVA and so was still there with Victor. Loki and Sylvie attempted to find them, but Miss Minutes separated them by sabotaging an elevator, forcing Loki to take the stairs as Sylvie hotwired it. Loki encountered his past self who had time slipped into the future near where Sylvie was prying open the elevator doors. Realizing the implications, Loki pruned his past self from behind with D-90's Time Stick, promising a confused Sylvie that it would all eventually make sense. Answering a call from O.B., Loki and Sylvie had him reboot the system in order to take Miss Minutes offline. Doing so also disabled the dampeners blocking their powers, enabling Sylvie to enchant Brad. Sylvie made Brad prune Renslayer while she and Loki rescued Victor.

Using Victor's temporal aura, O.B. and Casey were able to open the blast doors, but the Temporal Loom was already on the verge of exploding. Although Loki volunteered to launch the Throughput Multiplier, Victor decided to do it himself in case something went wrong. However, the temporal radiation was so high that it spaghettified Victor in seconds and the Temporal Loom exploded with the blast wave consuming the TVA and everyone in it.

Following the explosion of the Temporal Loom, Loki found himself still alive in the abandoned TVA. As Loki wandered the halls, much to his displeasure, he began time slipping again, briefly encountering a version of himself that was reading the Time Variance Authority Official Handbook. Returned to the abandoned TVA, Loki began reading the handbook before his time slipping past self entered and vanished. As everything around him began to spaghettify, Loki time slipped away with the handbook while the display of the Temporal Loom flashed a message that fail safe mode had been initiated.

On the Alcatraz of a branched timeline in 1962, Frank Morris and John and Clarence Anglin perform an escape. Time slipping into the middle of the escape, Loki recognized Frank as his friend Casey, but Frank had no idea who Loki was again. After much mutual confusion, Loki time slipped away again. Loki time slipped for a moment to McDonald's, Pirahna Powersports and the TVA's Time Theater before appearing on a branched timeline in New York City in 2012 where he was briefly spotted by pediatrician Dr. Willis - Hunter B-15 before she was abducted by the TVA - who had just finished treating a little girl's broken arm. In the 2022 Cleveland, Ohio of another branched timeline, Don - a single father with two sons - attempted to sell a jet ski to a potential customer without success. Loki recognized Don as Mobius M. Mobius, but much like Frank, Don had no idea who Loki was or anything about the TVA.

In a book store in Pasadena, California in 1994 of another branched timeline, Dr. A.D. Doug, PhD - Ouroboros before he was abducted by the TVA - attempted to put his book The Zartan Contingent on the shelves, much to the annoyance of the manager as the store didn't sell science fiction. When Doug returned home, he was approached by Loki and, unlike Loki's other friends, believed him and was excited that it was like one of his characters coming to life and needing his help. Loki was at first disappointed to learn that Doug was a writer before Doug revealed that he was also a theoretical physics teacher and scientist, although writing was his true passion.

While Loki wanted to go back to before the Temporal Loom melted down, Doug explained that since Loki time traveled in a place that had no time, something that was impossible, him time traveling to a place that no longer existed should be equally impossible and thus something that Loki might be able to do. However, Loki had to first learn how to control his time slipping which Doug believed wasn't random because Loki kept ending up around exactly the people that he was looking for. Loki's time slipping was also evolving because Loki was now moving around in space as well as time and Doug compared it to being a better version of a TemPad. Doug suggested that it was about why rather than what or how and Loki explained that his why was that if he couldn't save the TVA from being destroyed, there would be nothing to protect against what was coming. However, Loki's humorous attempts to control his time slipping failed and he decided to focus on using science to get to the TVA. As Loki had briefly appeared in the Time Theater, Doug suggested that the time and place Loki wanted still existed, but he just didn't know where to look for it. Doug's solution was to get the band back together: gather everyone who had been with Loki when the Temporal Loom melted down and use their collective temporal aura unique to that moment in time to figure out the coordinates to get back to that moment. Although they lacked the needed TemPad, Loki provided Doug with the handbook to build one before suddenly time slipping away.

Loki reappeared outside of Don's house where Loki witnessed his friend struggling with his children Kevin and Sean. Recognizing Loki as the customer from before, Don offered to sell him one of Don's two jet skis, and Loki recalled Mobius' fascination with jet skis and the possibility of owning them. However, Don was dubious about Loki's story about the TVA and Don being Mobius, thinking that Loki was just insane until Doug emerged from a Time Door in front of them, having spent 19 months building a TemPad, losing his wife, home and job in the process. Using the Time Door, Loki and Doug showed Don the truth by taking him back in time by a few minutes to witness the start of Loki and Don's conversation with each other. After Loki promised that he could bring Don back to any point in time so that Kevin and Sean wouldn't even know that he was gone and explained that his children were in danger too, Don finally agreed to help, acknowledging that Mobius was a pretty cool name. Loki then successfully recruited Dr. Willis and Frank into their mission and brought them back to Doug's new home which had the appearance of a more primitive version of O.B.'s office at the TVA.

As Sylvie finished her shift at McDonald's, Loki approached her, only to discover much to his surprise and relief that Sylvie remembered everything, including the explosion. At a bar, Loki explained how everyone's lives were reset to before the TVA which Sylvie saw as a good thing as they were back in their real lives. Loki in turn wondered how many would've chosen to stay at the TVA given the choice, suggesting that they could finally be given the choice that He Who Remains took away from them. However, Sylvie was uninterested in anything but enjoying her new life and got Loki to finally admit what he truly wanted: to have his friends back and to not be alone. An emotional Loki wondered where he belonged without his friends and Sylvie urged him to write his own story like everyone else was doing now. However, after Loki's departure, Sylvie witnessed her timeline spaghettifying like Victor Timely while visiting a records store and barely escaped in time using He Who Remains' TemPad.

Impatient to return to his life, Frank expressed an interest in the TemPad and the possibilities that it held for his criminal activities while Dr. Willis enjoyed Doug's books and Don unsuccessfully tried to sell her a jet ski. Upon his return, a despondent Loki ordered his friends to go back to their lives where they belonged. However, Sylvie arrived with the news that everything was falling apart, and the branches were dying. With everyone present, Doug attempted to enact their plan, only to discover the TemPad missing. Although Frank was accused of stealing it, he was proven to be innocent as the timeline and everyone in it began breaking down as reality came to an end. His friends' words running through his head, Loki desperately grasped at the strings of reality before suddenly time slipping back to moments earlier as he was about to disintegrate himself.

Loki managed to send himself back in time to Sylvie's arrival, having finally figured out how to control his time slipping: rather than it being about where, when, or why, it was about who. Loki declared that he could rewrite the story and, focusing on O.B., time slipped back to the TVA, appearing next to O.B. before the explosion.

Loki time slipped into the body of his past self in the Temporal Loom control room as Victor Timely went to launch the Throughput Multiplier. Once again, Victor was spaghettified almost instantly as he headed for the launcher. As Mobius, Hunter B-15, Casey and Sylvie panicked and the Temporal Loom melted down, Loki asked O.B. what they could've done differently. O.B. admitted that it was a good question, and they took too long. As the Temporal Loom exploded, Loki declared that he'd do it again, but faster.

Traveling back in time repeatedly, Loki attempted to speed up the process of launching the Throughput Multiplier at the Temporal Loom. When that failed, Loki attempted to enlist the help of Miss Minutes to finish the Throughput Multiplier faster while Miss Minutes, Renslayer and Brad were holding Victor captive. Loki acknowledged that she was hurt and angry, but they needed her help to get the device done faster. Miss Minutes appeared rather shocked, but it was left unclear if she helped or not. However, Loki's efforts kept failing with Victor spaghettifying before he could launch the device, although Loki eventually managed to make it fast enough that Victor got a short way down the gangway rather than instantly spaghettifying.

Taking a different approach, Loki traveled back in time to when Victor first arrived at the TVA and sped up his introduction to O.B. Loki gave everyone the presentation that O.B. and Casey had given the first time about how their plan to use the Throughput Multiplier on the Temporal Loom would work and revealed that combining Victor's prototype device would make it work. However, it would take time for O.B. to adapt the Throughput Multiplier to work with Victor's device. Loki asked how long it would take for him to learn everything that O.B. knew about mechanics, physics and engineering, but O.B. and Victor admitted that even though Loki was a god and a fast learner, it would take centuries.

After spending centuries learning everything that he would need to know from O.B., Loki led everyone into the control room and took charge, confusing Loki's friends with his suddenly advanced engineering skills. Using Victor's Temporal Aura, Loki was able to unlock the blast doors and he quickly gave Victor directions on how to launch the Throughput Multiplier, ordering Victor tape his suit's right thumb, left knee and faceplate to avoid the temporal radiation peeling his skin right off and to avoid putting the device down on the gangway or it would roll off. Loki gave further instructions to the confused O.B. and Casey, causing Mobius to joke that Loki was coming for O.B.'s job. This time, Victor set out early enough to make it down the gangway, successfully launch the Throughput Multiplier and make it back alive, albeit with some difficulty.

As everyone celebrated, the Temporal Loom's rings began widening and O.B. and Casey discovered that it was working: the Temporal Loom was integrating and weaving the new branches together and stabilizing. However, moments later, the Temporal Loom started overloading again. While they had succeeded in increasing the throughput, there were just too many branches for the Temporal Loom to handle. Victor realized that the branches of time were duplicating and expanding at an infinite rate. The Temporal Loom would never be able to accommodate for an infinitely growing Multiverse meaning that no matter how much they increased the throughput, it would never be enough. The Temporal Loom would always fail, and the new timelines would always die. Sylvie realized that it was almost as if as soon as the timelines started branching, this was doomed to happen. The Temporal Loom exploded again, and Victor apologized as everyone watched the blast wave coming towards them.

Loki time slipped back to the Citadel at the End of Time as Sylvie attempted to kill He Who Remains and tried to stop Sylvie from killing him as everything would end if Sylvie did. However, Sylvie accused Loki of being seduced by a throne and warned him that Loki would have to kill Sylvie in order to stop her. Loki repeatedly tried and failed to stop Sylvie from killing an amused He Who Remains who simply watched the fight each time.

Finally, Loki asked why He Who Remains never tried to do anything to stop Sylvie. Much to Loki's surprise, He Who Remains paused time around them using his TemPad. He Who Remains asked how many times Loki had been at this and was amused that Loki hadn't figured out how to pause time yet, having figured that Loki would be way past that. He Who Remains made Sylvie disappear and revealed that he not only knew about the time slipping, but he had paved that road for Loki too, just like He Who Remains had paved the road that had led Loki and Sylvie to meet him in the first place. He Who Remains asked if Loki had really thought that he was just going to sit back and let Sylvie kill him before bringing Sylvie back and telling Loki to go through this a couple of thousand more times and then come back to have a conversation. Freezing time himself, Loki asked why He Who Remains thought that this was the first time that they'd had this conversation.

Impressed, He Who Remains called Loki his favorite and sent Sylvie away again. He Who Remains revealed that he was aware of both Victor Timely and the problems with the Temporal Loom. He Who Remains explained that the Temporal Loom was a failsafe intended to delete all of the branches except for the Sacred Timeline when it was overloaded and his variants were already out there. Loki insisted that he'd find and stop them, but He Who Remains stated that there were too many. Even though Loki would try, the outcome to this equation would remain the same: Loki would lose which Loki acknowledged. After a moment, Loki declared that he would change the equation and break the Loom, but He Who Remains reminded Loki that the Loom prevented a brutal war where nothing survived, not even the Sacred Timeline. The Sacred Timeline could only survive with He Who Remains keeping watch at the End of Time and he asked Loki if Loki could see what he was offering was mercy. After a moment, Loki decided once again to find another way, and He Who Remains summoned Sylvie back to kill him and repeat the cycle. He Who Remains challenged Loki to make the hard choice of either breaking the Temporal Loom and causing a war that would kill them all, or killing Sylvie so that they could protect what they could.

Loki time slipped into his past self during Loki's interview by Mobius when he had first arrived at the TVA. Loki recalled how the interview was supposed to go, and asked for his friend's help with figuring out how you choose who lives and who dies. However, Mobius stated that they pruned, not killed, and the Time Keepers had that responsibility. Loki dismissed the dogma and pointed out that it was actually the TVA who was doing it, but Mobius told him that they did it because it was the proper flow of time and there was no comfort to it or at the TVA. Mobius told Loki the story of a couple of Hunters who went after a variant near the Black Sea who was going to cause 5,000 deaths that were not a part of the proper flow of time. The variant turned out to be an eight-year-old boy who was just minding his own business, swimming with his brother and jumping off of the dock. One of the Hunters who had never had trouble pruning before hesitated for the very first time. As a result, the timeline started to branch, more variants appeared, and it happened so fast that the Hunter's partner had to step in and prune the kid. However, the cat was already out of the bag by then and a couple of Hunters died because that one Hunter lost sight of the big picture which had to be kept in mind. Most purpose was more burden than glory, but you never wanted to be the guy who avoided it because it was impossible to live with the burden. Realizing that the story was about Mobius himself, Loki asked how he lived with it, but Mobius called it scar tissue. Mobius' partner that pruned the boy when he couldn't was Ravonna Renslayer who knew the impossible thing to do was the thing that had to be done. There was no comfort, you just had to choose your burden. Loki thanked his friend, and they shook hands before suddenly, Mobius and the TVA spaghettified around Loki.

Loki time slipped back to Doug's workshop as everything started to spaghettify and pulled himself and Sylvie outside of time, bringing them back to just before everything spaghettified around them. Loki explained that he had finally learned to control his time slipping, and went back, but he couldn't fix the Temporal Loom because it was a failsafe designed to protect the Sacred Timeline and nothing else. Loki was out of options after having tried everything and Sylvie realized that the only way that anything survived was if Sylvie never killed He Who Remains in the first place, meaning that Loki would have to kill Sylvie. Loki can't see another option, believing that it was the Sacred Timeline or nothing. However, Sylvie argued that it wasn't enough to protect the Sacred Timeline, stating that even down there it was full of death, destruction and injustice. Sylvie asked if Loki really wanted to be the god who took away everyone's free will in order to protect that, but Loki felt that there was no point to free will if everyone was dead. Sylvie pointed out that it wasn't up to Loki to decide that they couldn't die trying and fighting for it. Loki would only be replacing one nightmare for another and, having grown up in apocalypses, Sylvie knew that sometimes it was okay to destroy something. Loki suddenly came to a realization that it was okay to destroy something if there was a hope that you could replace it with something better.

Loki returned to the moment that Victor unlocked the Temporal Loom and, with a sad expression on his face, silently entered the airlock followed by Mobius and Sylvie. Loki declared that he knew what he wanted and what kind of god he needed to be for his friends and for everyone. Walking down the gangway, Loki shed his TVA identity, donning his godly attire and horns instead. As everyone watched, Loki used his magic to detonate the Temporal Loom and release the branches which began withering away. O.B. realized that the branches were dying, but when Loki grabbed the branches, his magic revived them and created a gateway. Loki took one last look back at his stunned friends with Victor nodding in agreement of his plan while Sylvie silently shook her head in despair. Holding the branches, Loki ascended into the gateway which sucked in all of the branches and closed, and Sylvie sadly declared that Loki was giving them a chance. In the ruins of the Citadel at the End of Time, Loki ascended to his throne, weaving the branches of the Multiverse into a tree reminiscent of Yggdrasil with Loki at the heart of it.

Afterwards, the TVA has become changed for the better with posters up everywhere showing the new tree with the TVA's changed message and mission of "let's grow together. Nurture our nature for a better future." The screen once monitoring the Temporal Loom and the timelines to prune now monitored the status of the Multiverse instead. Having taken on a leadership role in this changed TVA, Hunter B-15 praised her comrades work and told them to ask if anything that they needed. At a console, O.B. and Casey reactivated Miss Minutes who apparently had been wiped of her memories and effectively reset, although O.B. admitted that he wasn't sure if the AI would try to kill them all or not. Casey promised to save B-15 a seat in the War Room and Mobius gave B-15 a report on the variants of He Who Remains, none of whom knew about the TVA yet. While one had caused a bit of a ruckus in an adjacant realm, the situation had been handled, so they were all good for now. After B-15 left, Mobius looked at his own case file which he had requested.

Looking at the mural of the Time Keepers and the Multiversal War, B-15 told Mobius as he joined her that Casey was going to get them taken down. Mobius suggested that they were a good reminder not to forget the past so that it wouldn't be repeated. Mobius revealed that he was leaving the TVA, asking if the TVA would even miss a tired, washed-up old analyst with a heart of gold, but B-15 suggested that one or two of them would. Mobius admitted that he had to see what exactly it was that they've been protecting for all of this time. Accepting this, B-15 promised that if Mobius ever wanted a seat in the War Room, it was his. The two sadly parted ways and B-15 entered the full War Room and started talking with Judge Gamble.

In Repairs & Advancement, O.B. received a box containing the Time Variance Authority Official Handbook Second Edition which was now credited as being co-authored by O.B. and Victor Timely. In 1868, a young Victor Timely experimented and looked towards the window, but this time, the package containing the handbook did not come through it, sending Victor on a different path and effectively erasing from existence the branched timeline from which the Victor who had gotten the handbook and built off of it came. In the Void at the End of Time, Renslayer, having been pruned earlier, awakened as the wind blew grass away from the TVA seal on the ground nearby - at least part of the Void was actually the TVA at the End of Time. Alioth approached Renslayer to consume her and she defiantly stared the creature down as Renslayer met her fate.

From down the street, Mobius watched his Sacred Timeline counterpart Don playing with his children and going back inside of their house. Joining Mobius, Sylvie commented that Don's yard could with a bit of work, but Mobius said that it was fine and was amazed that his Sacred Timeline counterpart lived in the best house on the block and that if you "never look, never know." The two found it weird that Loki wasn't with them and Sylvie promised to see Mobius around, admitting that she wasn't sure where she was gonna go while Mobius decided to stay where he was for a little bit and let time pass. Sylvie departed while Mobius continued to observe Don and his family.

On his throne at the End of Time, Loki heard the conversation between his two friends and smiled sadly, having finally found his glorious purpose as a true god and weaver of time who protected and maintained the Multiverse.

Jotun Physiology: As a Frost Giant, Loki is extremely powerful and possesses various superhuman attributes common among the Jotuns including superhuman strength, durability, longevity, dexterity and an accelerated healing factor. However, many of these attributes were significantly superior to those possessed by the majority of his race.
- Superhuman Strength: Loki possesses superhuman strength as a result of his Jotun heritage, that is comparable to his Asgardian contemporaries, which he has honed in combat training alongside his adoptive brother, Thor.
- Superhuman Durability: Loki has an extremely resilient body with a tolerance for physical trauma that is similar to the Asgardians.
- Accelerated Healing Factor: Loki heals from most injuries at a rapid rate.
- Superhuman Longevity: Like all Jotuns, Loki is extremely long-lived and ages far slower than humans. Despite being over 1,000 years old, Loki still maintains the physical appearance of a man in his prime.
- Superhuman Dexterity: Loki possesses viciously fast reflexes.
Master Sorcerer: Loki is a master of magic. He was given his skill in magic by Frigga, who decided to share it with him. With his training, Loki eventually became a highly skilled and formidable sorcerer, with it being his main asset in battle. Using his magic, Loki was able to revive and weave together the branches of the Multiverse, an extraordinarily powerful feat that displayed just how powerful of a sorcerer Loki truly was.
- Illusion Manipulation: Loki can generate, create and project holographic illusions, using them to make decoys of himself or to disguise himself.
  - Shapeshifting: Loki's powers of illusions allowed him transform his appearance and attire at will.
  - Invisibility: Loki can make himself and others unable to be seen or heard.
- Mind Control: Loki's abilities allow him to influence people with his mind, allowing him to implant thoughts and subtle suggestion to them.
  - Enchantment: Much like Sylvie, Loki is capable of enchanting other beings, combining powers with her to enchant Alioth. Loki only discovered this ability after Sylvie reminds Loki that he has all of the same powers that she does because they're the same person.
- Conjuration: Loki demonstrated being able to cause objects to appear or disappear out of thin air. Aside from summoning and concealing his equipment, Loki is also able to create tangible objects, but often simple items such as parchment and quill, a blanket, or even new clothing.
  - Teleportation: Loki is able to teleport himself or others short distances.
- Telekinesis: Loki is able to fling people and objects around with just a wave of his hand.
- Energy Blast: Loki is able to fire energy blasts from his hands. While fighting General Dox's forces, Loki and Sylvie were able to unleash a massive energy wave while holding hands with each other.
- Chronokinesis: After destroying the Temporal Loom, Loki was able to use his magic to weave together the branches of time into a Yggdrasil-like tree maintained and protected by Loki from the End of Time.
Time Slipping: Through the machinations of He Who Remains, Loki gained the ability to travel through time, referred to as time slipping, at first uncontrollably bouncing from place to place. While it started at first as Loki moving through time alone, he was later able to move through both time and space and travel between various branched timelines. After learning how to control this new ability, Loki was able to transport himself into the body of himself at the particular moment in time that he wanted to visit, pause time and pull himself and Sylvie out of the flow of time.

Abilities[]

Expert Hand-To-Hand Combatant: Loki is devastatingly skilled in armed and unarmed combat.
Master Tactician: As the God of Mischief, Loki is a master tactician and a superb tactical thinker in military situations. He is also an opportunist and formulates plans in seconds. Without even thinking, Loki used the Tesseract to escape custody.
Advanced Mechanical, Physics and Engineering Skills: After spending centuries studying mechanics, physics, and engineering under O.B. using his time slipping, Loki gained extremely advanced skills in those areas, enough to surprise O.B. and Casey and to understand how the Throughput Multiplier worked. As a result, Loki was quickly able to combine it with Victor Timely's prototype device for launch, something that O.B. couldn't do quickly even with all of his knowledge.
