Marcus Daniels is a man with the ability to drain the energy out of everything around him, both electrical and biological.
Biography
Early Life
Born in 1972, Marcus Daniels got a science degree from a university between 1990 and 1996, during which time he did some work in Pancho's Bar to get extra money on the side. When Vers and Fury had a meeting at Pancho's, they made Daniels leave so they could talk in private.
Later, Marcus Daniels was a lab assistant working on a substance known as Darkforce. During an attempt to harness power, he was inadvertently exposed to the Darkforce. This resulted in Daniels gaining the ability to absorb different types of energy, but as a side-effect he became psychotic. He began pursuing a cellist named Audrey Nathan whose music he admired, and came to think of her as the only light in his darkness. Shortly after he made closer advances on her, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson led a team that disabled Daniels by flooding him with more energy than he could absorb.
Daniels was incarcerated in the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility known as the Fridge, and during his time there he was experimented on to increase his powers.

"Providence"
When HYDRA agents led by John Garrett and Grant Ward take over the the Fridge, Daniels among the prisoners freed by them.
"The Only Light in the Darkness"
Daniels begins making his way back to Portland, killing a man for his truck. He approaches Audrey while she is jogging, but Coulson's team confronts him and attempt to bring him down as they did before, however thanks to the experiments done to him at the Fridge, he is able to overcome them and flees.
Coulson and his team come up with a new method of stopping him, and use Audrey to lure him out. When Daniels appears, they attempt to overload him with modified spotlights that produce gamma radiation. Daniels manages to resist at first, until Coulson catches him by surprise, allowing the others agents to also aim their spotlights at him. Daniels, unable to absorb all of the energy, explodes.
