Maximus "Max" Boltagon, also known as Maximus the Mad, is an Inhuman, who possesses telepathic powers.
Max is also the younger brother of Blackagar Boltagon and a member of the Inhuman Royal Family.

- Inhuman Physiology: After undergoing Terrigenesis, Max gained telepathy, but he is currently unaware of this power of his, as his DNA has been altered at a cellular level, to the point that even the Genetic Council's advanced technology could not detected Max's Inhuman DNA, as they believe that Max was turned into a normal human.
- Telepathy: Max can telepathically numb, override and even efface the minds of other individuals.
Abilities[]
- Genius Level-Intellect: Max is a highly intelligent individual, as he spent years plotting to overthrow his older brother, Blackagar Boltagon to become the king of Attilan, so that he could make life better for the lower-caste Inhumans of Attilan by changing the caste system. Max's intellect is proved to be even superior to Blackagar and Medusalith Amaquelin's.
- Master Tactician: Max is a highly skilled tactician, he was able to successfully stage a military coup d'état to overthrow his older brother, Blackagar and to take over Attilan.
- Master Manipulator: Max is highly skilled in the art of manipulation, he was able to manipulate almost all the Inhumans in Attilan to choose him as the new king, instead of Blackagar, who he had overthrown earlier, due to the fact that the lower-caste Inhumans have become frustrated with the caste system and Blackagar made no attempt to change the it after he became king.
- Sign Language: Max knows sign language and uses it as a way to communicate with other individuals, who are deaf or mute. He is also able to understand everything that Blackagar says, but he pretended to be ignorant of this language, until the events of ...And Finally: Black Bolt, when Max revealed to Blackagar that he had learned sign language a long time ago.
