Morag was an abandoned planet.
History[]
Guardians of the Galaxy[]
Every 300 years, the sea lowered and the Temple Vault, an ancient structure hidden deep beneath the waves, was made accessible. There the Orb was hidden.
When Peter Quill entered the Temple Vault, he obtained the Orb, but was immediately surrounded by Korath the Pursuer and his men. After identifying himself, Star-Lord ducked as Korath fired upon him, destroying a temple wall. Star-Lord activated his helmet and quickly exited the Temple Vault with Korath and his men in pursuit. Star-Lord raced to the Milano and took off. Korath and the Sakaarans fired upon the Milano but Quill dodged the blast and left the planet. Before leaving Morag, Quill's ship was hit by a geyser which nearly caused him to crash to the ground below causing Bereet to climb up from the lower level of the ship and wonder what had happened. Shortly after Quill left, Yondu Udonta led his Ravagers to Morag to claim the Orb and found it and Quill gone.
Avengers: Endgame[]
In order to reverse the Decimation, the surviving Avengers undertook a mission into the past to retrieve the Infinity Stones. To this end, Nebula and James Rhodes traveled back in time to Morag in 2014 to get the Power Stone before Peter Quill. They were accompanied by Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff who departed the planet for Vormir in the Benatar.
After ambushing Quill, Nebula and Rhodes retrieved the Power Stone and Rhodes returned to his own time. However, Nebula's implants connected with those of her 2014 self and she was prevented from returning to 2023. Nebula was captured on Morag by Thanos shortly after.
Once the Decimation had been reversed and Thanos defeated, Steve Rogers returned the Infinity Stones to their proper places in time, including returning the Power Stone to Morag.
