Oscorp Industries was one of the biggest defense contractors in the United States. It was founded in 1966 by Norman Osborn as Oscorp Manufacturing. They were working on a Super Soldier program to keep their contract with the military. When Norman died, his son, Harry, took control of it until his own death.

History[]

Spider-Man[]

Norman Osborn owned the company and had scientists working on gliders, exoskeleton suits, and most frequently, the performance enhancers that were designed to enhance the human physical process. General Slocum offered to give Oscorp two weeks for the performance enhancers to be stable (due to earlier testing on rats that caused them to go insane) or the company would lose the contract to Quest Aerospace, one of the rival companies. Norman tested the formula on himself, which not only enhanced his human process, but also created a new persona known as the Green Goblin, who killed his assistant, Dr. Stromm, and stole the glider, exoskeleton, and other equipment.

Following the Green Goblin destroying Quest Aerospace and killing Slocum, the Oscorp board members decided to sell out the company when Oscorp's Unity Festival occurred in Times Square. However, the Green Goblin killed the members before the announcement was made. After the Green Goblin's death, Norman's son, Harry Osborn, took over as Oscorp's new CEO and owner.

Spider-Man 2[]

Two years later, Harry continued to run Oscorp Industries and managed to prevent it from disbanding. Scientist Otto Octavius offered funding from Oscorp to provide tritium for his fusion reactor and would make a breakthrough if the fusion was stable. However, the fusion reactor became unstable and almost caused destruction in the city, which led to Oscorp's reputation being ruined as a result of the failed fusion experiment.

Spider-Man 3[]

Harry continued running Oscorp Industries while preparing to become the New Goblin so he could exact vengeance on Spider-Man for the death of his father. After Harry discovered the truth of his father's death from his butler Bernard Houseman, he helped Spider-Man defeat Sandman and Venom, though at the cost of his own life when he was impaled with his own glider by Venom. Following Harry's death, it is unknown who took over as the new CEO of Oscorp Industries.

A variant of Norman Osborn was taken moments before his death into another reality, as a result of Doctor Strange's corrupted spell. He tried to search for Oscorp, only to discover that there was no Oscorp Industries in that reality.
