Project Rebirth, also known as Operation Rebirth, was a US government project originally administered by the US Army. Its sole purpose was to create a line of Super Soldiers for its World War II effort. Steve Rogers joined the program in 1943, but the experiment was sabotaged by Heinz Kruger, leading Peggy Carter to step in and participate in becoming the world's first Super Soldier.
