As an angered Clarice protested how the civilians standing by could be okay with this before fleeing as the Purifiers layed fire to her car.

When she was younger Reeva Payge and her friend were ambushed by a group of Purifiers. Reeva attempted to use her powers to defend them but was unable to summon them due to her being emotionally affected by a fight she and her friend had. This resulted in her friend being fatally stabbed while a young Reeva grieved her.

Officer Ted Wilson contacted Jace Turner to convince him to join the cause. However, Turner was hesitant as he considered the Purifiers a hate group. However he later changed his mind after seeing on the news that the Inner Circle had freed numerous Mutants from a mental hospital.

After the release of the mutant mental patients The Purifiers along with Jace raided a hospital that cared for Mutants hoping to find the escaped patients. However John and Caitlin managed to hide away with some of the Mutants. When one member began attacking a doctor Jace stopped him and when they were unable to locate anyone the group left.

Had an assembly on what to do against the ongoing protest by Mutants in support of the Inner Circles actions. Jace proposed that they find some of the escaped patients themselves as a show of enforcing order and gaining favor with the public. Managing to find a Mutant Underground safe house The Purifiers raided the facility and managed to capture some of the Mutants. Although in the process they lost one of their members, Marcos, John, Reed, Clarice, and some of the others managed to escape and the mutant Shatter was killed.
