- Super Soldier Physiology: After taking Valentina Allegra de Fontaine's Super Soldier Serum, Bob gained several superhuman attributes.
- Superhuman Strength: Bob is much stronger than normal humans. He was able to bend John Walker's shield with his bare hands and send him flying with a single punch.
- Superhuman Durability: Bob is far more durable than normal humans. He was shot several times and fell from the sky without suffering from any physical injuries; such heights would have injured a normal human.
- Superhuman Speed: Bob is much faster than normal humans.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Bob's reflexes are much faster than normal humans.
- Superhuman Stamina: John possesses far more stamina than normal humans; allowing him to remain physically active for long periods of time.

- In the comics, Robert "Bob" Reynolds was a meth addict who was transformed into the superhero Sentry after ingesting an experimental super-soldier formula called "Golden Sentry Serum", gaining the power of one million exploding suns in the process. His nemesis is a dark entity known as The Void, which bonded to his body when he became Sentry. After the entity nearly killed his sidekick and murdered several people in Manhattan, Reynolds erased his memory with the help Mister Fantastic and Dr. Strange from the mind of nearly every person on Earth, even his own. He has been a member of the Dark Avengers, Mighty Avengers, New Avengers, and the Horsemen of Death.
