Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops, is a level-4 mutant who can project energy blasts of concussive force from both of his eyes. He became one of Professor X's first students and the field leader of the X-Men.

Scott eventually reunited with his brother, Alex thanks to Magneto. The two went to Asteroid M where their powers were enhanced so that Scott could control his eye beams. But he gave up the powers to be with the X-Men.

Character traits[]

Scott is kind, caring, selfless and moral, although he tries to present himself as a mature and responsible individual, but he is actually quite immature, to the point that he jumps to conclusions before he gets his facts straight.

Scott can sometimes be short-tempered and hot-headed, to the point of being violent and aggressive.

Scott takes his position as the field leader of the X-Men very seriously, to the point of being no-nonsense, as well as the fact that he always follows the rules, but this sometimes causes him to become quite cold and distant towards other individuals.

Despite Scott's serious demeanour, he is proven to have a sense of humour, which he sometimes displays around the other members of the X-Men, particularly Kurt Wagner.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Mutant Physiology: Cyclops is an extremely powerful mutant who possesses optic blasts and energy absorption.
    • Optic Blasts: Cyclops can generate, create and project bright red energy blasts from both of his eyes; that can deliver massive concussive force.
    • Energy Absorption: Cyclops can absorb several different types of energy, particularly solar energy. He can also discharge it as his own.

Weaknesses[]

  • Involuntary Control: Unlike most other mutants, Cyclops cannot control his powers, as his energy blasts are permanently active, the only way to stop it is by closing his eyes or by shielding his eyes with ruby-quartz, Cyclops also wears ruby-quartz as lenses in glasses or in his visor, which is generally the only way for him to safely see without inadvertently damaging his surroundings.
  • Limitations: Although Cyclops' energy blasts are incredibly powerful, they do have there limits. During Cyclops' second confrontation against Juggernaut, well his energy blasts at full force can slowdown the mutant, but it was not enough to actually injure or kill him.
  • Ruby-Quartz: Ruby-Quartz is the only known natural substance that can block Cyclops' energy blasts without any damage.
  • Sunlight: Cyclops' powers comes from absorbing the energy of the sun, if he is too below ground, then his powers will be suppressed.

  • Visor: Scott wears a visor to control his energy blasts.
  • Sunglasses: Scott wears sunglasses that prevents his energy blasts from destroying everything in sight.
  • X-Man uniform: Scott wears a protective suit, when he is out on the field in battle.

  • In the comics, Scott Summers has a rivalry or antagonistic relationship with Logan. But in the Earth-11052 universe, there is no rivalry.
  • But instead, Scott has an antagonistic relationship/rivalry with Lance Alvers.
