Steven "Steve" Rogers was a soldier in WWII who took the Super Soldier Serum which enhanced his physical abilities beyond that of a peak human being. He became Captain America but got frozen in ice while fighting HYDRA.

Avengers: Endgame[]
While hiding from S.H.I.E.L.D. agents looking for him and Tony Stark, the Steve Rogers of 2023 ducked into an office. Much to his surprise, Steve found a picture of himself on the desk and realized that he was hiding in the office of his lost love Peggy Carter. Holding the picture of his counterpart, Steve sadly observed Peggy in an adjacent room through a window, unnoticed by her. Once Peggy left, Steve took one last look at his picture before putting it back and leaving. This encounter would later inspire Steve to return to another Peggy in the past after saving the world from 2014 Thanos and to start a life with her.
