- "We call them Symbiotes."
- ―Dora Skirth[src]
Symbiotes are amorphous alien organisms hailing from the planet Klyntar.
Symbiotes are a carnivorous and symbiotic species that must bond with a host for survival and a body as they cannot survive long in an oxygen-rich environment, as they otherwise exist as formless goopy blobs.
While bonded to a host, symbiotes can harmlessly merge into and reside within the body and will manifest over them as a "suit" of sorts, taking on hulking monstrous forms with large white eyes and gaping fanged maws.
The symbiotes have a hive mind encompassing the entire race across the Multiverse, described by Venom as "80 billion light years of hive knowledge across universes" which allows them to share knowledge of each other's experiences.

Spider-Man: No Way Home[]
Having been transported to an alternate universe by Stephen Strange's spell, Eddie Brock and Venom sit in a Mexican bar where an inebriated Eddie goes over the events of that world such as Tony Stark being Iron Man, the existence of the Hulk, Thanos, and the Infinity Stones. Eddie expresses doubt over the bartender's stories, but the man just replies that Thanos made his family disappear for five years. Eddie suggests that he should go to New York and find Peter Parker while Venom wants to go skinny dipping. However, the two are sent back to their own universe moments later.
Unnoticed by Eddie, Venom or the bartender, Eddie left behind a small piece of Venom on the bar which starts to move on its own, suggesting that Eddie and Venom inadvertently spawned a new symbiote that got left behind.
