  • Isn't it strange that Phil Coulson appeared in Iron Man 1 & 2? Was in the end credit in New Mexico when he found the location of Thor's hammer? Then appeared in Thor with the same scene? Along with The Avengers, before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D show?

    • No. He was an agent prior to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And they expalin how he was brought back in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. They intentionally put him in those movies as a kind of glue or connection/common element to the Marvel movies. Not sure why you think that's strange.

    • I found it strange. Normally when you introduce characters like Coulson, their in a couple of scenes, then they move on. I can understand Coulson being in Thor. But with Iron Man and The Avengers, before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson could have been an everyday character before hand.

Coulson was designed as a throwaway character in Iron Man, then they decided to include in him Iron Man 2 because people were curious. After people liked him in Iron Man 2, they continued giving him bigger roles in other movies. The point was to make him the "glue" binding together the MCU.

I hope Coulson doesn't end up as another throw away character in Thor 3. Otherwise, I'm going to call Marvel Studios and have a word with the president.

He's the star of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He's totalloy out of the movies now. And Thor 3 may not even involve Earth.
