"What If... Captain Carter Fought the HYDRA Stomper?"[]
At Avengers Tower, a portal opened below Peggy Carter and sucked her in, leaving both the Watcher and Natasha Romanoff wondering where she was.
Peggy awakened in another universe where a medieval-era Nick Fury and Wanda Maximoff greeted her. Wanda confirmed that Peggy was not only the one who could save their queen, but also the one who can save their entire world as well. Annoyed at not being able to take a night off as she had planned, Peggy called out for the Watcher.
"What If... The Avengers Assembled in 1602?"[]
With their world dying from a temporal anomaly that was tearing it apart, Fury, Prince Thor and Wanda summoned Peggy Carter from a neighboring universe in the hopes that she could save theirs from destruction. However, after weeks of trying, there was no success and their universe continued to die and Peggy began to lose her allies one by one. After Queen Hela got sucked into the anomaly and died, the newly crowned King Thor blamed Peggy and declared her a fugitive, but she managed to escape.
Fury later attended a meeting with Thor, Happy Hogan and Wanda where Wanda determined that the presence of a lost future traveler, the Forerunner, was causing their world's problems. However, she was unable to determine who the Forerunner was, so Fury discreetly told a hidden Peggy to do it and covered up her presence to Thor.
During the final battle between Thor's forces and Peggy's allies, Fury and Wanda sided with Peggy with Wanda magically restraining Thor and holding back the anomaly while Fury knocked out the guard holding the Royal Scepter. Fury delivered the scepter to Tony Stark who was able to use the Time Stone contained within to power his device – taking on the form of a gauntlet – that could identify the Forerunner. Much to everyone's shock, the Forerunner proved to be Steve Rogers, who had accidentally struck the Time Stone while fighting with Thanos during the Battle of Wakanda, which changed the entire universe to the year 1602, and wiped out the memories of everyone on Earth, turning the planet into an Elizabethan-era esque one. In order to save his world, Steve touched the Time Stone, which returned him to his own time and restored the universe to normal, preventing its destruction and sending everyone back to when and where they belonged.
