Werewolf by Night is a Marvel Studios special presentation and a Disney+ original set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first television special of Phase Four finds a group of monster hunters fight to the death to gain a powerful relic and fight a monster.
Plot[]
Following the death of Ulysses Bloodstone, monster hunter Jack Russell is summoned by Ulysses' widow, Verussa, to Bloodstone Manor where he and other monster hunters are chosen to participate in a hunt to determine the new leader who will wield the Bloodstone relic. Ulysses' estranged daughter Elsa arrives to take possession of the relic despite Verussa warning against doing so.
The hunt begins at the manor's labyrinth-like area with the captured monster implanted by the relic. Following his encounter with Elsa, Russell finds the captured monster who happens to be a friend he is looking for to be rescued. Russell separates from the monster and reunites with Elsa hiding in a tomb room. The two agree in working together to free the monster, named Ted, and obtain the relic for Elsa. Russell destroys a wall for Ted to escape into the forest while Elsa manages to extract the relic. The relic itself reacts to Russell, indicating him to be a monster, as Verussa and the remaining hunters arrive.
Verussa captures Russell and Elsa in a cage and begins her enchantment with the relic to reveal his true nature. Russell transforms into a werewolf before he attacks Verussa and her henchmen. Elsa escapes the cage and kills the hunters but is attacked by Russell after rescuing him from Verussa's attack, but he escapes after recognizing her. A furious Verussa tries to kill Elsa but is attacked by Ted, who disintegrates her before leaving to find Russell. While Elsa inherits the manor, Russell and Ted reunite in the forest.
