The Westview Anomaly or the Hex, was the name of the hexagonal shaped barrier around Westview, New Jersey that housed the reality of "WandaVision" was accidentally created by Wanda Maximoff. Crossing the barrier into the Hex transformed outsiders into the sitcom reality inside. The anomaly was erased following Agatha Harkness' defeat by Wanda.

"Familiar by Thy Side"[]
In a flashback, the attendees at William Kaplan's barmitzva were forced to leave early and go home due to a change in the anomaly. As the Kaplans drove home, WandaVision played on every radio station and they noticed the anomaly suddenly shrinking. Distracted by the sight, Rebecca Kaplan crashed the car, leading to William's death. Moments later, William's body was taken over by Billy Maximoff as the anomaly continued to shrink.
Three years later, Ralph Bohner told Billy and Eddie the truth about the anomaly which had since been covered up to the public as an Avengers training exercise.
